How can anyone take this despicable, cretinous, fat, bald f*kwit (posing as a person) seriously? Can you already surmise i had the unlucky chance of meeting him when he tried to pick me up with the oldest line in Hollywood, “I want you in my movie I'm directing” (It didn't work.)
Ebert said Fellini and other great directors are self-indulgent too; yes, but they are geniuses who make timeless masterpieces. Saying this “artiste manqué”showbiz charlatan's name in the same sentence is a travesty. Tobeck is a hyper-confident (as in “con-man”) self-aggrandizing weasel who has conned his way around other phonies in Hollywood. This proves that an aggressive, glib con-man who is overly self-confident (even if egregious & obnoxious) can 'bank' a barely readable script by bilking enough money to produce a film.
What he did to Neve Campbell in the rancid “non-scripted” dung pile, “When Will I Be Loved”* jump-ended her career. When is the last time you saw Neve in a leading role?
The answer to ”When Will I Be Loved?“ his P.O.S. flop is: NEVER.
