Why so much QAF cast?

Okay, so I saw Gale and (Brian Kinney, the main charachter on "Queer as Folk") he looked just like season 5 Brian. He seemed a little more pale though.

I wasn't able to watch the entire movie, but Alec McClure (Chris Hobbs, the guy that bashed Justin in the head on the season finale of season 1) was in it. He seemed close with Martha (did he play her son, brother?).

Then the judge looked a lot like Lynne Deragon (Joan Kinney, Brian's mother). I'm not actually sure about that.

Was this movie filmed in Canada. It probably was, most TV movies are unless they need to be at a certain city. I know Gale lives in Toronto and Alec's from there and I also assume Lynne's from there as well.

Just thought it was funny having Brian, Brian's mother, and the man that almost killed Brian's boyfriend.

For the same reason you see them on QAF. The movie was shot in Toronto, and all of them besides Gale are Canadian actors. And Gale was based in Toronto when it was shot, too.

reply

Yeah, it didn't say the movie was shot in Toronto. I was just assuming and my assumtion was correct, thanks.

The thing is, I convinced myself that Alec was done in acting and he only guess stared in episode 405 just because they needed him.

Do you know if that's really Lynne?

I know that's Joan Kinney and Hobbs, and somebody told me that Guillaume, the nasty Frenchman, was in it too. What I hated was that horrible guy who played the FBI man on Street Time was playing her attorney. He's the most eccentric actor, with deliberately mushy diction. I think he's trying to attract attention the way the cigarette-smoking man did on X Files. He always sounds high or drunk, and about to keel over from a stroke.

So it is Joan.

A friend of mine said "Martha: Behind Bars" aka "The Queer as Folk Reunion" and I haven't even talked to her about it.

Guillaume, that's funny.

I'll look for him next time (if I ever see it again.)

Lol, I just came across Martha Inc. on Lifetime and was unsure if it was the one with Gale in it or not (cuz I had heard he was in one of them)...so I searched his name and came here to see when this Martha Behind Bars one would be on..

Big Gale/Brian fan here.

Anyways it just so happens to be on now. Damn I have good timeing haha.

Yeah Gui (french guy) played the prosecutor in the trial. It was weird him not having a thick french accent. The judge is the same women who plays brians mom I was shocked when I saw her I had heard that chris hobbs was in it but not her. I also heard that dr. laura (dr. davids friend from season 1 at the party where mikey met davids friends) was in it but I'm not sure if that is true or not, so I guess it was like a QAF reunion!

"In a non-defined, non-conventional way, yeah."' -Brian Kinney

Yeah, it appears we have a lot, and any true QAF fan would notice it.
Here’s what we’ve gathered.
1. Gale Harold as Peter Baconovic, Martha's Merrill Lynch stockbrocker.
2. Alec McClure (Chris Hobbes) as Kevin Sharkey, home editor for Martha Stewart Living Magazine
3. Julie Khaner (Dr. Laura, one of David’s friends in Episode 109) as Marianne Pasternak, Martha’s friend
4. Noam Jenkins (Guillaume, Lindsay’s Frenchmen in Season 1) as Michael Schachter, the U.S. Defense Attorney against Martha
5. Lynne Deragon (Joan Kinney, Brian’s mother) as the Judge residing over the trial
That’s a lot of QAFers in there!

Haha thats amazing. I heard the movie wasn't good, so I wasn't very motivated to find it, but now I'd like to!

And as for the times you're not around, I wouldn't particularly mind it if you were-Brian
