Grace is pathetic

she had the chance to end that scumbag's life at the truck stop motel. instead of announcing to the killer that she had a gun, she should have just pulled the trigger.

her boyfriend's death (as well as everyone who dies afterward) could have been avoided. she waits until everyone is killed before deciding to kill him...yippee!

that was truly pathetic (as was the movie).

Well, evidently you and I would have pulled the trigger early on (probably even earlier than that). But you have to know that now everyone is as quick to kill as it may seem. I'm pretty sure I would have done it, quickly...but I'm not 100% sure on how I could react in a situation like that, I've never been in it.

Most people would have a hard time just shooting and I think a big thing to me would have been "Huh, the cops already think we've done these killings, they probably won't believe us with another dead body showing up, that I really did kill."

Better judged by 12, then carried by 6...

You make a valid point because you do not know how a person is going to react when the adrenaline starts to pump and course through your veins. That extra adrenaline you just might pull the trigger and kill Ryder and then face up to the situation after seeking counseling from a doctor for a while. Plus, you have to consider you might be under Post Traumatic Stress Disorder for a while with waking up in the middle of the night with cold chills of having the same nightmare over and over again. A lot to consider and then due to the stress you may look older than what you actually are.

The cops in the real life wouldn't believe for a second that she was responsible for the killings but considering that the cops in the film had less intellect than the ones in The Simpsons, that is a valid enough point.

Would've been a short movie ;-).

like in UNFORGIVEN, it is harder to shoot someone than you think

You must not love your boyfriend than. You wouldn't be "taking a life" more so saving a life! Your BFs!

reply

the stupid girl should of just shot herself in the face and the boyfriend and the killer go have some beers and call it a night. I think the movie be better like that.

"what are you a gay fish?"

lmao, funny but true

reply

That would be a nice ending.

reply

Yes it is harder to take a life, but at the end of the film she just had enough of Ryders BS and ended it all for him by killing him off.

You can't fully blame her for her b/f's death, and if you were put in the situation, you are scared, in shock, your pulse and heart is pounding, people are not all perfect under the type of stress how this guy is ready to take them both out. Her adrenalin was pumping. She may have thought she would scare the guy into leaving.

reply

I agree she's an idiot. I wanted to slap this b*tch so many times. You can justify her stupidity all you want, but I like what John Rambo said:

"When you're pushed, killing's as easy as breathing."

reply

Her first priority was saving her boyfriend's life.. and she knew if she shot the guy that her boyfriend would die. When he released the break she went more into panic then was too overwhelmed with the emotion to think of killing him. Whether or not one can take a life i'm sure anyone would have shot him if shooting him would save a life but what goes through one's head when losing a loved one is different.. she obviously did get into the revenge/punishment mentality when going after him in the final scene.. even if too late. Many would have chickened out even then.. no matter what they say they "would" do.

If Grace had shot the killer in the truck, the COPS WOULD HAVE IMMEDIATELY SHOT HER! They all think that she shot the police officer earlier, and they'd think the hitcher was another victim of hers. She'd shoot him, the cops would shoot her, and the boyfriend still would have died.

reply

Did you forget that she had a chance to shoot him through the bathroom door?

reply

I don't care. She's freaking bad ass at the end.

reply

She kinda got on my nerves at the end taking the officers gun and walking up to the police carrier truck kinda blindless. John Ryder if alive (as he was ) definitely had the technical advantage in the truck the way she approached the vehicle. Then she gets the gun taken away and the officer is now helpless with out his gun and gets a bullet right between his head

reply

I completely agree. There were lots of BS moments that irritated me in this movie, but what got to me the most is when she though she was all bad@ss and took the cops gun to try and kill Ryder. She left the cop completely helpless and he died because of it.
