Ah man it had potential!

If it weren't for the silly attempts at comedy, poor CGI in riding scenes, forced romance and historical inaccuracies, this film would've been far more enjoyable! I almost wanted to abandon watching it after the first half an hour because of how ridiculous the plot seemed and how the characters were conveyed, but I endured those parts and continued watching. The second half of the film is a bit better as the story unfolds and comes together (and Drover stops being an *beep* and shaves his beard ).
Nicole Kidman's British accent was kinda poor in this, despite her fancy and expensive dialect coach.

I genuinely wanted to love this film because it's got the necessary 'ingredients' that work for my film preferences: beautiful Nicole Kidman, romance, drama, amazing scenery, hunky Hugh Jackman, but this film lacks too many important things that make a film good and of higher quality.

Could anyone recommend some good romantic dramas set in Australia, please?

Thank you!
