She always look anorexic but I think that works in many films.

Im talking more so about her face, she looks like she is in her late 50s not a 45 year old woman.

I laughed every time she tried to pull an expression. It was scary! She really looked old and just creepy!

Hi All! I watched this movie over the weekend, I actually liked it alot.I think they made her look worn-out/haggared to show what she was going through. When she went to the party her character was in a dress & her hair was curled & she had make up on, Better Midler had some frizzy bun hair do. I really enjoyed this movie though I was very shocked at the end.

She's obviously starving herself skinny, and the result is she looks like an old witch on Halloween, except it's not a mask.

It's too bad, because I normally think she's really cute. But's it's time to start eating, Helen. So you may lose a Hollywood role or two. It's not like you're getting great roles anyway.

Who gives a *beep* She's a decent actress.

Bette Middler looked younger!

I thought she looked pretty good, for all the mileage, although the implants are too fakey-looking.

Oh, wait a minute. I was thinking of Jenna Jameson when she co-starred with Ron Jeremy and T. T. Boy in "Then She Ate Me."

Nver mind.

Two things....

1...

she looks the way she does because she has had no plastic surgery or "work" aka botox on her face! I personally think she has aged naturally and is a beautiful women.

2...

I personally thought it was bold of her to be in her mid 40's and be willing to show so much skin. And if you don't like her then turn the movie off! Stop complaining when no one is forcing you to watch it!!!

Don't be that person in life that always has something to complain about with nothing good to say. The world has enough complainers!

I have to reluctantly agree - I still think she's a wonderful actress, but we just saw this film and my husband and I both said she looked too thin and gaunt. Does she have a problem with food, or is it simply genetic? I'm the same as her and would love to lose some weight, but not that much...

Jeez Louise! Helen, is that you?

1. You think she has aged naturally and is a beautiful women[sic]. That is your opinion. I think she looks like she was rode hard and put away wet. That is my opinion. Regarding opinions: everyone is entitled to theirs.

2. You wrote "...if you don't like her then turn the movie off!" It's not that easy to do in a movie theatre where, after spending at the least $10.00, you pretty much are forced to watch it.

The romantic comedy audience is a picky bunch: they want their stories tight and plausible; their protagonist someone attractive to whom they can relate physically; and the object of her affection, good looking. To me, this movie fails on the first two requirements. Just my opinion.

Now say "goodnight," Helen.

She is WAY too skinny that is why. When a woman gets to be about 35 or 40 and is too thin it shows up in her face. Look at even Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, and Debra Messing etc.... they are too skinny and look haggard and gaunt and wrinkled, a size "0" is NOT flattering, no boobs, hips or curves and no pretty face, I have friends who are in the same boat size 0-4 and look SO awful, they never get asked out but my friends who are about a size 8-14 and have pretty faces and curvey great bodies get asked out alot! My Mother told me a woman should always carry an extra 10 pounds so her face will look good and she is right!! I am not saying get super-fat just keep some meat on you, your face will look so pretty and fresh and unwrinkled. I am a size 10 and I love it! my hubby loves it and I feel good and my face is unlined and I look younger. These actress' are mistaken. Helen Hunt looked ill and sick in this movie, she could of played the Mother! Bette looked good and her acting was good. Its a shame women get too skinny and ruin thier looks and health, eat a milky way, life is way too short too suffer starve and be haggard and miserable!

Yes, I was put off this film because she was so skinny and pointy-faced and had such long, lank stringy hair-very unattractive. It was hard to believe that Colin Firth's character found her "gorgeous". Also, she doesn't look a bit like Bette Midler.
