The Best Movie Ever Made About An Evil Ventriloquist And Her Puppet Kids
Frightmaster James Wan has another scream machine hitting the silver screen this weekend — The Conjuring 2. And whenever Wan delivers another horror offering up unto the masses, I like to remind people that his underrated 2007 film Dead Silence is damn amazing. Dead Silence is still a total blast — a film about an evil ventriloquist named Mary Shaw (Judith Roberts) who had a hell of a lot of puppets. Mary’s evil ghost wants revenge, as all evil ghosts do, and she draws poor hapless sap Jamie (Ryan Kwanten) into her puppet nightmare — first by killing his wife, and then by calling him back to his Norman Rockwell-meets-Tim Burton hometown. Much puppet mayhem happens. You may be thinking, “Hey — this doesn’t sound that great.” Well allow me to illustrate why Dead Silence is the ultimate masterpiece of killer puppet movies: http://www.cutprintfilm.com/features/dead-silence-is-the-best/
