Maya Angelou just gets on my nerves

She is always acting so judgmental as if everything that the younger generation does is so inconceivable and unbelievably immoral and she must be the voice of reason with that poetry of hers. From what I've read she was no saint herself. She used to be a drug pushing, pimp/prostitute so instead of coming across like she's so high and mighty she should be more understanding.
Before trying cookies for the first time, Cookie Monster's name was Sid.

You are the one who's sounding like an idiot. You don't even have the intelligence nor the ability to separate the person from her poetry. Do you know anything about her that would give you the right to call us idiots and prove me wrong in my assessment of her? What is it about her, outside of her poetry, that's so great?

She’s a total phony. Sanctimonious prose with no meter, a holier-than-thou-attitude, and a background of total trash. The only reason she’s “known” is because Oprah Winfrey lionized her and pushed her up. Typical. Makes me sick.
