Sledgehammer symbolism

Kind of spoilt the film for me a bit.

Nic has blood on his hands, literally, when he touches a box in the aircraft hanger, to underline his first big moment of complicity.

He's getting out of his depth... cut to shot of him alone in a swimming pool in the rain.

Amin draws him in like a moth to a flame... cut to shots of moths against the sunset (repeatedly).

Things finally get out of his control – sudden switch to handheld camera with shake and swoops.

Amin says he IS Uganda and gives Nic a sinister embrace... Nic is dwarfed as Amin's body fills the screen in a closeup, symbolically growing to the size of the country.

Nic rushes too late to try to perform the abortion... cut to a shot of a stork flying off!!!

In the airport, Nic is thrown to the floor with shelves of cheapo-label Scotch whisky behind him, while Amin has an idealised holiday-poster image of a utoptian Uganda behind him.

Then Nic literally flies off into the sunset leaving the mess behind!!!

ALRIGHT ALREADY, WE GET IT MR MACDONALD!

Indeed. Good and effective but yeah, just a little heavy-handed. The sound effects especially.
