dead posts

It really is a loss that IMBD can't keep all the posts for a film. I read several enlightening posts on this film a few years ago, but they expired. Such a shame, such intelligent, interesting thoughts. I guess all the posts belittling people and making empty insults take up quite a bit of space.

Especially that one post claiming that "violence is very, very violent."

IMDb no longer gets my endorsement.

guess I missed that one ??

That was a very funny post that disappeared.

This is verbatim from 2006 but I don't remember who posted it. I did not write this!

Hello? Racism

I can't believe how stupid people can be to like this movie. I consider myself to be something of a movie buff with my favorites ranging from the, "Rocketeer" to "Stomp the Yard" but I have never seen a movie with such overtly racist undertones. I should know because I am in AP english and the whole class is devoted to our teachers telling us what to infer about the plot of really long books. It is really cool, it's pretty much just us white kids, a couple asians and I think there is one jew, also.

I think we can all agree that there are many racist, Nazi-like individuals who claim that all African-Americans look the same. I know from experience that this is not true because we have like 4 that go to my school. they are bussed in from the poor areas and only 2 of them look the same but that is because they are brothers........like, actual brothers, not just black people. What I mean is that they have the same mother..........and possibly the same father.

Anyhoo, my point is that the director, producer, writer, casting agent and Kraft service representative that made this movie must have been the most racist bunch of people ever. Did you notice that every African in this movie was so ridiculously dark that they were almost a caricature of a black person. That is so outrageous. There are lots of black people out there who are lucky enough to be lighter skinned. Some are so fortunate that they can even pass for white until they begin to speak. Did we see anyone of a less than, "Dark as *beep* complexion? No.

Also, I never saw one African character take a bath or shower where as the Irish guy, whatever his name was, bathes numerous times or at least has more of a clean overall appearence. I mean, the African characters always had greasy hair or just kind of looked like they smelled a bit. I think we can agree on that. This just perpetuates the idea that African Americas are unclean.

Finally, although there is a lot more to discuss, the last thing I will mention is the violence. Personally, I find violence to be very, very violent and I don't like it. I don't like being beat up, or seeing my friends beat up and I particularly don't like seeing black people beat them up or beat me up. My point is this. This movie portrays Africans to be very violent and I know that there are probably some out there that aren't. I mean, they took the president of Africa or whatever and instead of showing all the good stuff he did, I don't know what it was but he had to do something, they show him taking out his black aggression on people. They could have made the movie about him hanging out with his kids but no, it had to be all gangsta' and *beep*

This is crazy and I, for one, feel like I am past all this prejudice. Do society a favor and boycott this movie. Try to exercise acceptance and tolerance in your every day life. Like, the next time you see a black bum, don't just assume he is a crackhead. He may have just lost his job because of laziness or negligence. It's up to you to find out.
