They destroy the island (I'm not spoilering this because this film CAN'T be "ruined") but not enough to get the dead guy who suddenly comes back to life like he's part reptilian now....like they think that's good "sequel bait"?

This is someone trying to be Roger Corman who doesn't have a clue as to what makes those films guilty pleasures.
