That was Rachel Peckcoth!!!

They did nothing with it. It was lined up perfectly for that has been who had a second wind to give him a break in the business. Otherwise there is no need whatsoever for the scene where he asks for her autograph. She wins an Oscar or something and tells the bad guy who was going to write a piece on her to f-off and give it to the guy who was interested when she did not have a brightly burning career. So many things in this film just don't quite add up.

Yeah I noticed that as well. When she told him "I'll never forget you" after he asked for her autograph I thought for sure that that was going to be a huge moment in the film. I was shocked when the movie went off and there was nothing about her helping him out or anything of the sort in it. It seems to me maybe they changed the script or something halfway through and left that part in for whatever reason. Otherwise it's just a little too random...

That would've been nice if that had happened. It could've been a shock if she had beaten Sophie for the Best Actress award and then you found out that Sidney was involved in some way.

Now I could easily be insane, but I seem to remember a scene where Sidney and Rachel come across one another again, after she's made her comeback, and she totally snubs him. I can't remember where I saw that; it's like it was in a director's cut or something? It bugs me though, every time I watch the DVD I'm like "Where is that SCENE??"

Yeah they call me the Hiphopopotamus, my lyrics are bottomless..............

Way to not remember... Sidney approached Rachel at the party after Maddox stole his "comeback" idea. She completely snubbed him, and pretended that she didn't remember him.

The moment where she said "I'll never forget you" was the setup to reveal what a shallow phony she is later on in the film. Once she was in the middle of her "comeback," she had no use for him.

It's not that I don't remember - it's that the scene isn't there, for me and evidently these other posters as well. I remember that scene, but on my copy of the movie, the scene isn't there. Which is why I wonder if it's only included in a director's cut version or something.

That could very well be the case, because the DVD I watched was pretty ham-fisted about making that clear.
