The Tank

So, why was Roderick trying to get Jill in his tank a couple of times in the movie? There was no reason for her to be disturbed by the idea and I don't get how getting her in the tank was so important to him and so disturbing for her. Was he gonna lock her in it until the kids were born or something?

I have no idea. The only thing that stood out about the tank to me is that I'm assuming it is supposed to be symbolic of the womb. But, that doesn't help much, does it? lol

That thing was creepy as hell, you couldn't PAY me enough to get in it! It was like a coffin!

He seemed to think it "calmed" him down (when the madness took over), so maybe he thought it would calm her down too? She was freaking out and maybe he thought she might pull a Maddy move and terminate the pregnancy herself, so the tank was a last ditch effort?

Just my theory!

I'm one of two people who actually built that tank. It was awesome designed by Larry Sampson, and yes, it reminds me of a coffin as well. I never thought of it per se as a womb, but that's a very good analogy. That was always my understanding that yes, she was to be locked in there until the babies were born so that she can not abort them the way Maddy did. You're correct Lisaplus1 :) He was desperate to keep the genetic line going.
