I went to church recently and it only reinforces the Jesus MYTH!

One of my neighbors invited me to his family's church over the holidays so I went just out of curiousity. It was the biggest JOKE on earth! A bunch of dumb chanting of useless bible verses, a little skit for the kids, more chanting and dumb stories of garbage bible verses, and then a Christian band ended things out. It was the most PAINFUL 90 minutes of my life!

My neighbor is OPEN MINDED & RATIONAL. He also has visited Muslim mosques, Jewish synagogues, Hindu & Buddhist temples, Hare Krishna temples, etc. and he readily admits there is no way to prove any 1 is different than another unlike delusional idiots like clyons!

I also spoke to several congregation members after the service and even they said they can't tell what is myth and what is real! I also spoke to one of the associate pastors and even HE admitted that he has no way to show Jesus is any more real than any other god or the bible is any more true than any other book! In other words he has NO WAY of showing the entire Bible has a shred of truth in it! Then he went on to admit church attendance is declining!

Clyons, that decline will only continue because morons and fools like you believe in a MYTH! OWNED & DESTROYED like always!

Jesus NEVER existed! He is Judeo Christian MYTH!

Honestly, I don't go to church either, megaloser. I went when visiting family for Christmas, but I wouldn't call it a deep spiritual experience--a lot depends on who is conducting the service, and on the congregation--sadly, there's an awful lot of mediocre priests in the Catholic Church (though I doubt any are as mindbogglingly stupid as you). I was raised in a parish where the priests were intelligent articulate and highly decent men, with advanced social views, who wrote thoughtful homilies, instead of just showering us with boilerplate.

I've said this many times, but you never learned how to read. I. Do. Not. Go. To. Church. And I don't believe any religion is inherently superior. I believe the most important aspect of faith is to respect the faiths of others--it's a major failing of religion that it assumes all other religions must be wrong--but that's just as true of atheism. As you have just demonstrated. "I went to church once and it sucked, so church is stupid." You've never been to a black church, I bet.



No, it only reinforces the fact that many churches today have no clue about teaching what's actually in the bible and you just described that perfectly. You could spend a lifetime in church and only come out with one long sermon that really has nothing to do with real biblical knowledge. And yet you still felt that the pastor could give you a credible answer. Hmm....

And they wonder why attendance is declining....

You know, I don't really have a problem with that, except that you obviously haven't been doing a lot of comparison-shopping (or any?), and how do you know what pastors who aren't on TV or running for public office are telling their flocks?

Lots of clergy do have a good knowledge of scripture, and a good understanding of what it means. Attendance is declining (in some areas) for a lot of reasons, including those you mention. Movie attendance is declining as well, and so is voter participation, and so are reading scores, and basic knowledge of American and world history. The number of people who believe in evolution has declined--does that mean biology teachers don't know enough about Darwin? (hmm--possibly)

Lots of things are declining. But that doesn't mean they're going anywhere anytime soon. 

Church attendance is declining because the bible is the biggest LIE ever told! Even Mark Twain spoke about the TONS of lies in the bible! I spoke to many congregation members after the service and they were FULL of doubt. Even they questioned how much was just MYTH.

If you gave clergy some truth serum they'd be screaming from the rooftops what a FRAUD this religion is! Even the Pope would! EVERY major aspect of the bible has simply been copied from an earlier religion and even the clergy I spoke to did NOT dispute this!

Explain the thousands of sick Christian kids who die every year. Clergy simply shake their head or have NO answer. The answer is it is nothing but a made up MYTH that does not have a SHRED of truth more than any other religion! Over 100,000 fake Christian artifacts like the Shroud of Turin have been found yet morons like clyons keep believing LIES because they have been brainwashed! Whenever clyons dies and realizes NOTHING happens after you die he will immediately think of me and how RIGHT I was!
