New characters in 'Garfield'

How do you like the idea that some new character(s) should start to appear in the Garfield comic strips? I know that there are not many characters in there whose appearing in the strips takes place on a regular basis, their number is limited to just a few but I think just one new character (two at the very best) would be just O.K. I'd like them to be another pet not a human - maybe new romantic interest for Garfield? What do you think? Or maybe a pair of cat twins always hanging out with each other, being this proverbial "pain in the neck" for our feline lasagna lover?
