Why is Bill Murray doing this crap?

He won't do a Ghostbusters 3 but he'll sar in another Garfield... Why?

reply

It's easy money. He only has to work for like a week. And he gets paid well. The second movie was much better than the first movie.

"I hear this place is restricted, Wang, so don't tell 'em you're Jewish, okay?"

reply

He could do 2 days on Ghostbusters 3 as a cameo and rake in millions because he own's one third of the GB rights... but he still didn't agree to do that.

reply

He uses the quality concerns as an excuse not to do Ghostbusters 3. He has said for years he disliked the second film and doesn't want to do a third because of this. The truth of the matter is simply this: he had a major fallout with both Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis (last time they spoke was on Groundhog Day). Since Aykroyd and Ramis are the primary creators behind the Ghostbusters franchise, he wants nothing to do with it. Murray isn't an easygoing guy who can leave grudges behind him. Ghostbusters 3 will never happen because of the rifts in the relationship between these three men.

He did the voice in Ghostbusters : the video game

I was just going to say this ^^^^ and you've got to remember that these guys aren't getting any younger....
Also, let's take the small graces where we can he did the video game and was a ghostbuster in Zombieland, kinda :P

I always thought that he did the Garfield movies because of the Lorenzo Music thing

Lets build a snowman!

Bill Murray is doing this part because back in the 1980's when he did the live action Ghostbusters movies as Doctor Peter Venkman I will have you know that when the Real Ghostbusters cartoon series came out Lorenzo Music who was the original voice of Garfield in the cartoons did the voice of the cartoon version of Peter Venkman. Since Lorenzo has died Bill Murray figured that since the original voice of Garfield did his character on the cartoon of the Real Ghostbusters he should do the live action movie voice of Garfield.

This is the correct reason for why Bill Murray voiced Garfield in both of these movies. Regardless of what the topic creator thinks, I, and a lot of other people, enjoyed this movie. Sure, it won't win any Oscars or anything like that, but it was a cute, fun movie.

I agree. The second movie is a huge improvement on the first film. While flawed, in terms of plot and laughs, it is very entertaining, with lovely locations and a very strong voice cast.

Murray sounds like an *beep* of the highest order!

reply

minerals, not only that; but when he received the script offer, he didn't even read it because he mistook the screenwriter as one of the Coen Brothers.

reply

This movie isn't crap! I am sure Bill Murray had alot of fun doing this film because he is not stuck up.... Like you!

reply

Obviously you didn't see Zombieland -

Q: "Any regrets?"

A: "Maybe Garfield .."

And yeah this movie is bad .. especially for Bill Murray. He wanted to buy a new suit so he did this movie. Welcome to reality.

reply

LMAO @ the Zombieland quote.

But seriously, I think that was written in the script for him to say that. If that was improve then.....Sorry Garfield, lmao

I highly doubt that was scripted .. the Bill Murray cameo was a last minute favor that Woody Harrelson called in and Murray just showed up on set. Belive whatever you guys want, if you think Garfield was great cinema that go ahead.

reply

And it's likely the Garfield crack was a joke nothing more. I wouldn't take it that seriously.
