Attack dogs

Having toured an airforce installment, I know attack dogs are terrifying. They were behind metal gates and on detecting unfamiliar scent, immediately threw themselves against it. Repeatedly. Probably painful although it didn't slow them down even remotely. Without locking their dogs behind gates the military would have serious problems anytime new recruits arrived.

The point? When someone produces a film mainly about vicious dogs, featuring dogs as big procrastinators as these it's pretty hard taking such a film seriously. Given how quickly these dogs detected intruders on their island it's unbelievable they waited a day before attacking. It's also unbelievable that one of the opening victims survived hours (as least) even with pseudo-rabid canines chasing him, especially since they'd already caught him at least once.

Add to that these dogs were genetically engineered to be even more aggressive. I know attack dogs can be scary, but for the most part they are trained to corner, not to kill. Even if they injure they go for non lethal areas like forearms, but they don't usually injure unless corner and contain don't work. It isn't necessary to fully attack; when cornered by a large and obviously aggressive dog, no sane person is going to try to run or fight. Even when injured they won't back down unless they are dead, immobilized or called off by handlers. They will also attack if they feel their handler is threatened; it is a very strong bond, just as strong as any dog with their family. Many of them actually live with their handler rather than in kennels.
