Cheapest theatre movie ever made?

I checked out the box office/business details on imdb and this movie was made with only 750,000 dollars, and pretty much all movies in theatres are usually multi-million dollar projects, has there been any other theatre movies cheaper?

awesome movie btw.

El Mariachi was made for less than 1% of the budget for 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters'

reply

i would say Tape, because that was pretty much a prosumer quality production, three actors, and only a one-room set. probably 20000 dollars. the actors could have been expensive though...

The Stewardesses 3D was made for 100k in 1969 (which adjusting for inflation is about 600k today). It's possibly one of the worst movies ever made, and yet it's among the most profitable movies ever made. To date it has grossed about 30 million.

Napoleon Dynamite was made for around $400,000.

Paramount also spent several million to get the right to distribute Napoleon to theatres.
