The only reason I knew this story took place in Boston was because the description said so. There we no landmarks, no mention of familiar places, and not one character, not even the extras had the accent. If a city is not a part of your film don't include it in the description. I'm guessing this was filmed in Toronto. It had no Boston flavor whatsoever, it was generic.

It makes passing references to some Boston names and venues (I remember hearing "Walpole"). But no, this is not a film to enjoy if you like actually seeing Boston in the movies. It was filmed in neighborhoods in New York. (Ouch! That's gotta hurt.)
shareTrue, there were no visual references that suggested Boston, but I did pickup on a slight Boston accent from the homeless woman Nick talked to about his father (even before she said "Walpole"). Up to this point, I wasn't sure where the story was taking place (I guess I missed any reference to Boston at the beginning).
