A thoroughly depressing film.

I found this to be a thoroughly depressing film with nothing really to recommend it. Having said that, Robert De Niro played his character to perfection, so much so that I would have happily murdered him in his sleep if I were his son.

I have seen some criticism of Paul Danos acting, however he did come across as someone searching for himself/his identity/his place in the world and that is what the character was all about.

Couldn't recommend it to anybody and I can see why it went straight to DVD.

I would agree that the film was rather sad.

But there was certainly a strong likelihood of redemption and reconciliation at the end.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.
