I know Jane and Michael Stern personally

I live in Newtown, CT and Jane and Michael Stern ride and board their 2 horses at the same barn where I ride and keep my horse. Alot of the book/movie was biographical and actually Jane and Michael are doing great now. They're both fantastic writers and Michael is a fantastic horseback rider I go on trails with him alot. Actually even though nearly all of the movie was filmed in Novia Scotia, a small segment of it was filmed in Newtown, CT becuase Michael asked the actor who played him to ride his horse so in that scene where "Michael" and "Jane" are riding and "Jane" cries, the horse "Jane" is on is a specially trained movie horse but the horse that "Michael" canters ahead on is a horse at my barn named KT Doll.

So yea Jane and Michael are two wonderful people and Robin Thomas and Kathy Bates both did an excellent job of portraying them.
