Love the show! But after the second half of S4..

This is indeed my favorite show of all time. The first season is pitch perfect and I love the variety of locations and plot & execution of each of the seasons. But after the start of the second half of season 4 the show takes a GIGANTIC NOSEDIVE. Holy shit does the show then turn to complete shit.

It's interesting to know the first half of season 4 is actually pretty kick ass. But after the big season twist about Don Self, there's so much that I don't like. First we have the main antagonist of the series survive a giant explosion. Not only did he survive but he was left completely unharmed. Then we have the inclusion of Scofield's mother. Not only is the character super poorly written but the actress is horrible! And she takes up a huge part in the importance of the story. Not only that but there are so many inconsistencies throughout the run time, like "Oh Come On Seriously!!?"

Does anybody else have the same experience as me?

For me it was series 3 it started to go downhill.

It was just the fact it was another prison. It had some good moments from what I remember but felt also like a rehash of series 1.

Series 4 tried to change things up but it kind of felt like a different show with it turning into a mission impossible, oceans 11 heist series.

I also felt it was a bit anticlimactic to reveal that after everything that Michael had done for his brother we reveal they aren't even related.

I don't agree the first half of season 1 was good it then started to go down hill with them making things up to drag the story out longer.

Season 1 only really needed to be 13 episodes.

I can't stand when these type of shows try to be smart but come out with very stupid mistakes like a diabetic having insulin shots in his arm and when the doctor wants to test she doesn't even use proper methods.

Next them replacing the vent pipe like they did was BS.

Too many errors and it started to get so stupid into season 2 on wards.

Season 4 second part (not half, because the second part started after episode 15 IIRC) had very low budget and was on the edge of cancellation, probably they just did what they could with very little money. Still there are a couple of good episodes (Cowboys and Indians is good)

I have to rewatch the show but the last time I rewatched it (like 7 or 8 years ago) it wasn't that bad. And I kinda liked Scofield's mother (which I hated while the show was airing on tv)
