I was seriously disturbed by the (SPOILER)

dissection scene. People seem to have a lot of strong opinions about this movie, both negative and positive. I am in agreement with many, but regardless of those issues I think I might not ever forget the awful surgical scene where the doctor is taking out the poor blonde girl's organs. And she is AWAKE. He doesn't even have the compassion to put her completely under. So she's drugged up but still awake and aware of what is happening, and the way she was sort of writhing and moaning in subtle pain. And the whole time her friend is watching knowing that is his fate. That was the single most disturbing and awful part of this movie. All I could think was oh my god she is awake and can feel this, and at what point does she stop feeling it and mercifully pass out or die? He took out her kidneys and her liver and she was still moaning in pain. WTF?

Very disturbing. I need to scrub that scene out of my brain.

that's why this movie is stupid, ok you got a guy who harvests organs from tourists...ok fine that's believable but then they make him a sadistic freak on top of it. he could have easily put them out completely and still taken there organs. they would have just went to sleep and not woken up...

reply

The whole sadistic surgeon was way overdone and besides that, there's the fact that you can't just pull a kidney out of a random person and give it to the highest bidder. There's that whole having to actually match up a donor and still have to worry about it being rejected...sheesh!

I know, I know, it's just a movie but even so, there's only so much suspension of disbelief. I actually liked the first part of the movie, but once it got to that part, it really went down the tubes.

reply

The patients would have had to check with a doctor and they were bound to get one because their were 8 tourists, and he probably would have taken blood samples from the tourists to match up with potential buyers.

Uhm. I would like to point out (the obvious), that someone who does that, can hardly have a healthy mind. You would have to be pretty far "gone", to be able to do that to another person...

reply

(Insert sarcasm here) Yeah a horror movie with an insane antagonist. What the Hell were they thinking!!!!!

I concur. The evisceration sequence was indeed very brutal and disturbing.

Well then u peoples shouldnt have rated hostel, saw, wrong turn, The human centipede and many more craps what the hollywood directs or produced overall....

Or i dont know whether u ppls thought that the whole movie was having scenes like that and u ppls enjoyed it and so it would be worth giving that kind of rating?

this scene is not a disturbing one when compared to those bitchy movies what i had mentioned it above...

I turned it off for the very reason he kept them alive. Just in there to add more shock value, and this is just further proof of how bad a state the horror genre is in. 8 years on and it's still the same. I worry for those who actually enjoy watching this kind of crap too.

I can probably count on two hands the number of times a film has disturbed me, and this is definitely one of them, specifically for this scene. In fact, it’s one of the few scenes in a film I refuse to watch ever again as it bothered me so much. Mind you, I grew up on horror movies, but sometimes, a movie—or scene—really gets its hooks in you, so to speak.

reply

I had to turn away. It was way 2 much even for me.
