Unlocking Olcadan...

Has anyone been able to find the owl-headed character Olcadan in Tale of Swords. If so, which character did you use and/or what path did you take with that character? I know he's unlockable this way but for the life of me, I can't find him. Can someone please help?

Olcadan is on the path to Night Terror. You have to take a specific path to get to Olcadan AND you cannot lose a single fight (unless you face Keres . . . ).

Honestly, the easiest way to do it is with Siegfried because the computer never learns to block B,2A (his combo where he does a vertical slash, followed by a low sweep with the sword). Learn Sig's range, and you can literally beat the entire game with this one combo.

Anyway, the path for Seigfried is:
1st Choice - Seek Power.
2nd Choice - Avoid following Zasalamel.
3rd Choice - Cursed Sword.
*When you fight Maxi at the Indian port, you have to KO him. You cannot get a ring out. You should get another choice to take his advise.
**After one fight, w/ Kilik (not sure where precisely it is in the battle sequence) it'll say you're being watched. Choose "Stop" and fight Shadowmaster.

This path will also take you to Night Terror, the game's true final boss. When you beat Night Terror, it unlocks a Soul Arena mission called "Final Battle" or something like that where all you do is fight Night Terror.

Alternatively, after you fight so many battles (I have no clue the exact number - it's over 700 I'm sure) Olcadan will be unlocked automatically.

Hitchcock: Daydreams, probably.

so is he stronger than abyss?

reply

Olcadan is like the Charade if SC3. He's not overly powerful, but since he has every weapon he can be deadly.

Yes, Olcadan changes fighting styles randomly every round.

Also of note: Abyss has only 2 weapons (1P and 2P version - neither with special abilities) to choose from on the Character select screen. Olcadan has six or seven to choose from on the character select screen . . . although, I'm not entirely sure how his weapon selection (and their special abilities) would impact his play. Now I'm curious . . .

The Ancient, Olcadan's standard weapon, is his version of each character's weapon that you get by beating him in Tales of Souls or by finishing a character's training. The Tease is joke weapons, The Hidden is special weapons like Soul Edge or Soul Calibur, The Silent and The Mute are default weapons for each character, and the others correspond to weapon 3, weapon 4, etc.

To unlock Olcadanyou must make certain choices for a certain character in tales of souls, after you do a few battles and a few choices, when you see this type of choices (Investigate this presence or Investigate this warrior),you will end up in a labyrynth and fight Unknown soul, once you defeat him proceed further into the labyrynth, and you will fight a destined battle (Ex. Voldo vs Yoshimitsu, Ivy vs Cervantes, etc), Note you must not lose any of your battles except the ones where it gives you the point to stop when your being watched,it depends on any fighter you choose or who your good with, now you when you defeat the destined battle (Note : you can only fight Olcadan when you make the right choices and not lose any of your fights except the stops)you will have a choice to proceed into the labyrynth or go the final battles. Choose to proceed into the Labyrynth, you will see Olcadan and will challenge you to a fight,he will fight with any style of any character except custom) Olcadan is pretty tough though so try your best and defeat him and he's all yours, if you lose you can't continue to battle him like the others, you will proceed to the final battles automatically if you lose to Olcadan you'll have to start the process all over again. Alternate way fight 575 battles, all of your battles are counted.
