Why hasn't big screen movie at least been thought of?

I'm sure this has been a topic millions of times. So sorry for this it's just I wasn't around for those posts/topics/debates.

But honestly I think Hollywood should make it a movie. It should start off with Kilik. Being taught by Edge master. And Edge Master telling him a legend about a secret blade of power called Soul Edge once held captive by the dreaded pirate by the name of Cervates of Spain... Then his master gets killed so he decides to set off on a quest to capture it. And along the way teams up with Maxi & Xianghua. As they travel, they learn more & more about Soul Edge. And discover that in order to obtain the mysterious weapon known only as Soul Edge, they must fight some other interesting characters for it. And unravel it's true, dark & powerful nature...

I thought about this when watching one of the SC4 trailers. I suppose they're scared it'll turn into another Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter?

Actually I read a few years ago that Sammo Hung had plans to make Soul Calibur the movie. But then I read that the whole idea was squashed.

I always thought that SC had a wonderful storyline and it would be great as a film; or series of films. If someone do decide to turn it into cinema, I pray they do NOT *beep* it UP.

i came up with a soul calibur movie , but it seemed to european pirates vs asian pirates.
