Yes, obviously boys and girls are different. In any sport, the guy's team would probably be much stronger than the girls. Just look at the difference, between every guy in this movie and Amanda Bynes. But the point of this movie, was that Viola's character could play as good as (and better than some of) the boys. And a lot of her "nonstop coaching" took place during practice. Duke and "Sebastian" just went early and stayed later it seemed, like anyone who wants to get better at something would do. And remember she was trying out for the team and MADE second string. There were others who didn't even make it.
I'm not saying Viola's character was the best player on the team, but she was good enough to play with them. At least in this movie's world.
BTW, I'm not a feminist at all. Men and women aren't equal in all things, but the ones who are should be given their due.
