Loved this movie when it came out and love it now.
But got me thinking if a movie was made and a guy pretended to be a girl, lived in a girls dorm room, took a spot on their sports team, everyone would freak out and the guy would be in prison.
It's happening except not in disguise.

It's been done before for laughs in a comedy. As long as the male character was not a predator of any kind and was just there for other more noble reasons I think it would be accepted.

The movie Sorority Boys (2002) had men dressed as women living in a dorm. I don't remember if they played women's sports in the movie, but the plot would still be offensive to some people: "Three rowdy college students are kicked out of their dorm and dress up in drag to live in the DOG house, where the girls deemed unattractive live."
