The gun thing on the cover
I think this game will kick ass and will become Sonic's sworn rival, but does anone think the gun thing on the cover was inspired a little too much by "Devil May Cry"?
Not to be a kill-joy or anything...
I think the gun on the cover was inspired mostly by the fact that he uses a gun in the game. I don't see a DMC picture in that stature. So you must think that every cool pose holding a gun is ripped from somewhere else... Riiiight...
Anyhoo; Shadow is not yet Sonic's sworn rival, if you've ever completed "Sonic Adventure 2" then you'd realise their relationship; plus it's actually in "Shadow the Hedgehog" that you choose whether to follow the path of good or evil (can't wait to take the dark side) so he may become Sonic's rival, or he may become Sonic's ally. Only time will tell. Bring on the fun!
Oh. And Sonic Team was really wrong i making the decision not to have a chao garden. We all love Chao, and think how awesome they coulda made it...
All across the community, people have compared it to DMC and Fable, as well as the GTA series. I'm not surprised he asked about it. Personally, I see more Conker in it than anything: A cute, furry, once rated-E animal coming out in a more adult game and having the use of weapons.
As for the game, I still have a hunch that Shadow will still continue to remain an anti-hero throughout all of this, even if he does regain all of his memories. Maybe Sega will surprise us.

I'm not saying every character wielding a gun is a knock-off of DMC.
If you just take a look at the structure of the gun, being a foot long and featured on a character with a little bit of a dark side, it may remind you of DMC just a little.
Maybe it's just me. I still believe it will be a really cool game. I'll buy it once it hits the shelves.

i honestly don't know why shadow's packing heat. i was just looking at the opening movie for the game and i don't know if i like shadow anymore. he seems so dark in this game. but then again, that's probably what they were going for. trying to make the game more edgy. still, i look back at the very end of sonic adventure 2 and look at this intro and think to myself, "can this really be the same shadow from sonic adventure 2, the one that gave his life to save earth?" that was such a sad ending, especially when he said, "maria, this is what you wanted, right? this is the promise i made to you." i guess i'll just wait until the game comes out to make my final judgement. here's the link for the website that has the intro to the game.
