New York Screening of The Sensei

The Sensei is a must see movie!!! Everybody clapped at the end!!!

Standing Ovation!!! and it was packed!!! Not a dry eye in there!!!

A Very Different Kinda Movie, not what you would expect from a

Martial Arts Movie! Wow, that movie just stays with you!

Definately caught me off guard! I definately see Diana Lee Inosanto

from a different perspective now eventhou I dont know

her personally! As more than a Martial Artist with this movie but a Oscar

Caliber Humanitarian. It Kinda gives me a Double Hit because a

old friend I knew 4 years ago that has full blown aids

I thought moved to florida to be with his sister and later

was told was dead, ran into me 3 weeks ago.

And has been telling me what he went thru and being in the

hospital for 8 months and homeless but been trying to help

him. Called me about some other problem right when I was

watching the movie and his situation kinda parallels the

movie! I hope she makes more movies like This

Excellent Movie

Absolutely agree! I was there as well in NYC and this movie was NOT at all what I was expecting. I attended for one reason and came away with so much more. Ms. Inosanto has achieved what most A-list helmers fail to - an emotionally gripping story, deep and nuanced performances, and a cinematic spaciousness that is seldom seen anymore in film (the Colorado Rockies are beautiful). Everything from the production design to the music makes this film totally work. And the message is one that you won't soon forget. Excellent, excellent work from this first-time director.
