In the very beginning of the movie ...

"based on real events"
"but the situations are fictional".

HUH ?!?

Events and Situations. The events are real, but the situations are not.

just What in the World does that mean really ???

Do you guys see any logic in the above statement ?

Well, yeah. It just means that the overall facts are true (she went to university, she had epilepsy, etc) but the situations they placed her in are false (her sleeping with her boyfriend, her friendship with the girl, etc). :)
