I Liked It so what's up with the low score.

I thought this movie was pretty good considering it probably was a low budget film. The acting wasn't half bad and the special effects were decent. I know that it's not on the level of "Conjuring", or "Anabelle" but the story line was good because it took a different route as to how the things got through to our world. Not sure if they were actually ghosts. They might have been demons of some kind maybe. Didn't really define that in the movie. Remember that we are all entitled to our own opinions. If you think that the movie sucked that's quite alright because it's your opinion. Anyone who jumps on anyone else for not having the same opinion as they do then they better rethink what they are doing.

The End

It was a remake and one most detractors hadn't even seen.

I think it got a bad rating because, in truth, it is just so slow and static. The shocks get telegraphed well in advance, and the images are so blurry usually, its hard to fell any rapport with the people in the film.

IKR? I thought it delivered on the creepy factor.

It seems lot of the movies I like have a low rating on IMDB. It also seems like horror fans are less critical of this type of movie than the general populace.

It's certainly better than the score on here would suggest, but it's not without its flaws - it's not scary at all apart from the basement laundry scene which gives you a good jump scare, and the acting is pretty mediocre. It also tackles a complex topic but doesn't really bother trying to explain it.

But it has its positives too - some nice creepy touches throughout, and it avoids a happy ever after cop out ending. You'll probably find that most people who slate it haven't even seen it; they've probably watched Kairo and thought 'how dare Hollywood remake it'.

It certainly falls under the underrated category - not perfect by any means but solid enough, and better than a whole load of other so called horror movies out there.
