english version???

i read somehere there is an english dubbed version of this movie. anyone knows sth about it???
Why would anybody want an English version?
Considering so much of this movie is sung, an English-language version would be a really stupid idea, unless they got some really good singers AND rewrote the songs in English
Yeah, that is true. I don't think such a version exists, but if you won't be able to understand it I suggest subtitles? ^^;
I found them distracting, but without them I wouldn't have been able to understand the film :( Didn't stop the film from being wonderful, though!
I can kind of understand the logic, since it would be a bit overwhelming to process the visuals, the text, and the audio all at the same time. In my case I had trouble caused since I could actually understand some chunks of the Mandarin but that was just a distraction since it wasn't enough to entirely forgo subtitles.
That said, I was impressed that the English translated subs also managed to rhyme for the most part.
Still, that wouldn't be so bad/hard, I mean, they've translated songs into other languages for other musicals (ummm...ok, disney : D). My guess is that maybe there wouldn't be enough of a market for it in English? I don't know though, I have yet to see the movie. I'll try to watch it in Mandarin but I only know a few words so I'll probably have to rely on subtitles :(
