This movies was written based to be all fiction, but I had done research before this movie ever came out and while the events in this movie are fiction the facts are that many people go "missing" every year from hunting trips, camping trips and so on often nothing is ever learned of their fate or why they went missing. The theories range from lost and died from stravation, exposeure ,runaways, killed by an animal, bigfoot, to being abducted by aliens, or the goverment because they entered a place or saw what they should not have. What ever the cause up to a hundred or so people go missing each year, the facts of their dissapearence are often covered in miles of red tape, no official information can be obtained on the cases and the familiesseem to go from concern for the ones missing to going missing themselves if they look into the matter to deeply to being so quit about the matter that they act the missing person(s) never exisited. The stories seldom get into the local news and never in the national news unless it is to say something like due to weather of terrain the search was unable to find anything and that little or no hope is expressed infind the missing person(s). Then it is all but deleted from public notice. And for me I belive that while the why in still an unknown factor at least one factor is certain people go missing and someone does not want the public to find out why.

does it suck to go through life being an exact duplicate of so many?
or are you just deft to it?

always looking for a boogeyman eh?

always believeing there is "more"..

sad really...mostly because you'll never find what it is you're looking for.

Hint: it doesn't exist.

OK WHAT? When people stop looking for the unknown, stop wanting to know what is out there, stop asking questions, stop wanting to learn then people are as good as dead. Wanting to know more about our world and what goes on in it and even the other planets and stars beyond our little peice of the universe it what makes us human in the first place. As for always looking for a "boogeyman", if you mean the reason people go missing, why there are stories of giants, dragons, bigfoot, sea monsters going back since time of cavepaintings on every land mass on the planet, then yes. I would love to know what "Croatoan" ment and why it was that was ever found of Roanoke and so many other mysteries. If you don't want to ask why and find out the truth and would just rather stick you head in the sand I just hope you dont get a stick up your A**.

Not at all.. that is what science if for.

>>"why there are stories of giants, dragons, bigfoot, sea monsters going back since time of cavepaintings "

because people want more then what life gives.. like YOU, you think there is more out there.. you NEED there to be more out there because when you stop to think of what’s on the other side of the universe or who is God's father, or what came first the chicken or the egg, you can't handle it, so you need this crap to keep you somewhat sane.

What kills me is the constant belief in the supernatural when there has never been ANY shred of proof EVER... and yet so many things can hide themselves from millennium of looking and all of our technology?

How about psychics? Why can't any of them ever predict any major event? Here’s a reason.. FRAUD.

Why don’t we find Loch Ness?
FRAUD (and the growing Tshirt and souvenir industry in Scotland)

Boogeyman - (he's the molester in your neighborhood)
Dragons - Um.. never found a skeleton, and yet. thousands of dinosaur bones.
Bigfoot - laughable at best (see dragons)
sea monsters.. There are sea "monsters" but the monster definition here is the unknown. there are no "lock ness" types.

The problem is bud.. is that you ask "questions" to find the "truth" and yet, no "truth" has ever been found.. ever.

If you wish to ask why and constantly find out no truth, that’s just really SAD.

But you have the all-powerful word on your side don't you?

YET

we haven't found it "YET"

Focus on what's REAL.

Myth Kraken source of that myth Giant Squid

ALso Dragons, large flying reptiles found in legends of england were ther are no native reptiles, China, Aztecs, Lakota, Apache, Egyptian all describe basicly the same creature but for centuries did not even know who the others were. Last of the dino good chance why no bones, well very few bones have ever been found, what have been found are fossils, considering areas not a good chance of remains being left for a few thousnad years as climent was wrong not to mention all the little nibblers that would of had a feast. The same could also be said of Big Foot, ever hear of Gigantopithecus, meaning "gigantic ape," which lived at same time as early man and like the Coelacanth is assumed to be extinct but could either be the source of the bigfoot legends or its ancestor.

Coelacanth extinct fish but not found in Indian Ocean.

Amazon Rain Forest 90% of which is unexpolred and where hundreds of NEW species are found each year from insect to mamal, canopy perfect block to your "and yet so many things can hide themselves from millennium of looking and all of our technology?" same with the deep oceans. Not to mention the deep forests or the Pacific north west of the USA.

As for the paranormal that is a differnt subject other then animals living but as yet not found.

OK I am going to give you a pass then, it seems like you are not a believer in the stupids, just a hopeful sort interested in new species..I made an error in assessment, I just get annoyed at the sheer amount of "believers" on this planet.

The "Undiscovered" is light years ahead of "supernatural" I apologize for painting you with that brush.

a Giant Squid would qualify as a sea serpent to someone who did not know it existed, so on that basis I am "with" you.

However, believing in "the Bigfoot" in a traditional sci fi channel way is absurd, same with lock ness.

I am all for and believe in, discovering new (Major) species, but not in our own backyard. Oceans , yes.. Amazon, yes.. Skamania Washington? No...
