Wasn't Urmi amazing?

Wasn't she? I thought it was the most natural performance of the year and she should have won instead of Rani!

Absolutely! Urmila's performance was one of the finest I've ever seen!

One of the most natural performances.

Meh.. she was good, but not great. I thought the performance was a bit too weepy and dramatic. I liked Urmila more in her other films.

Are we talking about the same movie? She pretty much cried round the sequences where she had a nervous breakdown and another time before when she was finally discovering her father's mental deterioration and had no clue on what to do. For me, it was realistic and I can picture anyone feel that way in such situations and that is why it was natural to me. Kher's character was the one in a 'locked up' state but it was Urmi's Trisha who's life was falling apart as she was losing her father, everyone else was suggesting putting him in a mental hospital, she loses her job (which she loved so much) and loses her fiancee with whom she had a four-year relationship. So I thought she was restrained and portrayed Trisha as a very strong character but that's how I saw it :)

I thought she slipped right into the role pretty well. her acting just FIT. Her character wasn't supposed to be dynamic and she pulled that off really well. She did amazing in this one. Someone mentioned Rani winning an award and beating out Urmila..was it for BLACK by any chance? I can't remember..
