Theme song Question

I was watching a episode of Johnny Test today on CN and noticed the theme song was completely different than the one I am used to does CN have there own theme song for the show or was the theme changed somewhere along the way?

reply

I don't know the answer to your question, but the theme song music I heard was rather blatantly "borrowed" from-- well, I won't say, that would bias folks' minds. But it is clearly more than an homage, sure hope they licensed the music rights.

The new theme song sounds VERY familiar. I'm glad you said that it came from somewhere because I thought I was going nuts! Please tell me where else I've heard it. Feel free to send me a pm if you don't want to "bias folks' minds". PLEASE?!

Thank you.

Question: Does anyone know which episode Johnny Gets turned into a girl?

reply

he doesnt, at least i dont think so. there is an episode where he tries to be one posing as a girl scout.

reply

Interesting, cuz it sounds exactly like a completely different song from Greenday's, too. At least, part of it does. I just can't place it. Maybe old REM, or They Might be Giants. Someday, I'll hear that song and won't remember why I wondering about it...

reply

yeah i agree it sounds like REM's End of the World, or something TMBG would do.

Thank you, wisdom triforce! That explains so much!!

You have got to be kidding me about worst pies in london' sounding like 'Tomorrow'

I NEVER made that connection, and after listening to both songs after reading that, I still can't hear anything that would suggest that.

I actually came on here to see if anyone else blatantly heard Green Day's "American Idiot," also. Glad to see I wasn't the only one. I sure hope that was on purpose, or else the music department needs to drink some creative juice.

Oh good, I thought I was imagining that. I thought it sounded exactly like it, till the end.

Oh and the theme to Danny Phantom was borrowed from Queen's "The Invisible Man" (according to the trivia page anyway)

The thing is, though, is that that set up has been in probably a thousand punk rock songs long before Green Day came along. It's the old three chord riff which cut out during the verses.

Someone else mentioned similarities to I Wanna Be Sedated. Is Green Day just a bunch of The Ramones rip-offs? No, their music follows the same basic formula, though. It's like saying a drummer rips off another drummer because they use the same beats.

reply

As folks said, it sounds a bit like Green Day's "American Idiot".. and upon hearing it again I finally just realized the middle sounds a bit like the Ramones' "I Wanna Be Sedated"....

They changed the theme song from one season to another. You can tell they're different from the lyrics and the tempo - in one of them, the lyrics match up w/ the screenshots (like when they talk about his "hard working mom and super clean dad") and in the other one, the lyrics happen seconds before the screenshots.

funny thing is, the johnny test theme song is much more catchy and well to be frank, just better. love this show, and im 20 yrs in college with a fine gf, perfect kind of humor. anyone who think this show is a rip off is clearly just looking at the premise and design and not the actuall jokes. thats what got me hooked. if i ever see it playing while im scrolling through my comcast channels, i never refrain from flipping to it.
