Am I just unsympathetic or.....

....did anyone else want to give Penny a damn good slapping? Honestly, her constant whining and hysterics grated on my nerves so much I had to watch most of the film with the volume turned way down.

"That, - Captain Bligh, - that is the thing; - I am in hell, sir - I am in hell."

reply

No, you're pretty much right on the money.

"It appears my hypocrisy knows no bounds."

reply

agreed. i actually started rooting for the killer... until i saw what a wimp he was.

I'm a psychologist and I want to slap Penny AND Orianna (who was another hideous representation of the mental health field). And yes, I also started rooting for the killer only because I thought the movie would end faster.

I couldnt agree with u more, especially in the beginning when she wouldnt get back in the car, I would have left her ass there, *beep* it! She really did need a good slapping!!

reply

LSblue you hit bullseye, I was so mad at that part. I was yelling at the tv when she wouldn't get back into the car. Yeah lets be more afraid of getting into a car than a cannibal killer in the middle of the woods...

Just finished watching this movie and I got to admit that i was very much disappointed with the movie. It was one of those movies that i'm hoping would end soon just to find out the ending. I give it 2 stars out of 10. A really good horror movie that i had watched 2 mths back would be The Descent. Go check it out if you guys had not seen it. Get the UK original uncut version.

she was in a trauma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whats wrong with u people????

Emman loves gore!!

reply

Nah. I pretty much was hoping for her death after her first scene. That intensified once it was illustrated just how hopelessly dimwitted she is.

Then after a while I was hoping she'd get killed simply so the movie could end. This movie was a colossal waste of the 90 minutes I threw away watching it.

I wanted to slap Penny as well as the Psychologist! First of all the Psychologist should of been paying more attention to the road. Secondly if I hit a person looking the way the maniac did after I would of checked and made sure he/she was ok I would of pulled the **beep** off! (sorry to say but it's true) while he was outside gathering his belongings off the ground or whatever he was doing I would've put the petal to the metal!

The psycholgist is dumb because after she pulled off from the maniac and Penny was whinning about pull over I would of ignored her **beep** and kept driving she would've had to throw up in my car because I'm not getting killed or slowed down for anyone. Last but not least why did the Psycholgist walk back into the woods to look for help where she dropped the maniac off at? Wouldn't it had made more sense to walk towards the street where she could possibly get service on her phone or see a car driving by? I mean seriously they were both dumb and deserved to die!

This thread is hilarious, and I'm proud to say you all would have survived being killed in the woods by the erm, maniac with flying colors.

Personally, I couldn't figure out why the heck she stopped driving the car because of a flat tire? In my haste to escape the dastardly clutches of said maniac, I would of driven that BMW right on it's bare rims until I got on some proper, well lighted & populated road, believe me I've seen it done.

Sure it messes up the car, but It sure beats an early & violent death at the hands of escaped mental home patients.

Or so I'm told.....

Thank you Sikeyamind. I totally didn't get why the hell the psychologist would

1 pick up a hitchhiker in that isolated scenario. Maybe because of the hitcher gender?

2 go miles out of the way to drop off the hitcher up the top of a narrow, unpaved hill. the psychologist's not a taxi service, she could drop the hitcher at the bottom of the hill and continue on her way

After all, the psychologist was supposed to be working on one of her patients, not giving joy rides to freaks who can't even take down the hood on their jacket when they are in a car

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

True, at the beginning, I hate Penny because she was being a whiny brat. But then as the film progressed, I started to feel bad for her. Like, why did this have to happen to HER? She didn't do anything to deserve it. The saddest part for me was when she apologized to Orianna and asked her why she didn't just drive off and not picked up the hitchhiker. I might just be too sensitive, but that part got me crying. I've never cried during a horror movie. Not once, until this movie showed me this part. I don't know about you, but I didn't root for the killer at all. In fact, towards the end when Penny hits the killer with the rock, I was shouting "FINALLY!".
