This time of year eight years ago...

I was sixteen, and I was obsessively perusing these message boards and watching any and all footage I could from this film.

It's a damn shame it's as dismissed as it is. It's a mediocre film, but it's incredibly well shot and it's become a holiday tradition for me (along with the original of course, plus a bunch of other Christmas classics, horror and non).

I will say that the Weinsteins really screwed up with the misleading promo footage in the trailers though. I recall everyone being pissed off that there was all this stuff presented in the trailer that had nothing to do with the actual movie. Seems run of the mill with the Weinsteins though— most of their films under the Dimension branch end up totally hacked to pieces before they get released, and the result is subpar at best. I didn't even realize the film hadn't made it to Blu-ray in the US. I had to order myself a copy of the Blu-ray from Amazon Canada just so I could have it.

Anyway, I guess my point is, despite all the flaws, this movie has a special place in my macabre-loving, sacrilegious heart.

Watching Black Christmas right now. :) It's a tradition for me to watch it every year along with the original. I loved this movie when I first bought and and I still do- regardless of the flaws it has.

I remember this board back in 2006, good days

I watch the original every single year around Christmas but for some odd reason didn't get around to seeing the remake until just today. It isn't as good as the original of course but still worthwhile. Maybe I'll add it to my yearly December schedule from now on.

Saw this in the cinema just over 9 years ago. Spent over a year obsessing over it like everyone else on the board. Even joined members other fan forums - danyuld (guy who managed to visit the set!), crazyostrich, to name a few. Remember when everyone thought Lacey Chabert was the 'best friend' and second supporting role...how different it turned out.

Even went as far as to befriending the director's daughter on MySpace haha (I submitted the trivia about the fake trailer scenes as she told me that herself). And of course I remember when they released all the new spoiler stills showing how everyone died and the first screening reviews and everyone asking body count questions on here.

Feels so weird that I saw this when I was 14 and now I'm almost 24 haha. TIME FLIES!
