Characters from everyday life.

Can someone help me name a few other titles centering on the everyday lives of lower class or middle class Indian people? I watched a lot of movies that solely depict the happy few of rich people, but I don't find their stories as interesting as I find stories like that of Iqbal.I'm most interested in socially engaged cinema on how society as a whole is affecting the lives of everyday people.

I hope I don't offend anyone btw. My taste for this kind of movies is also present in western cinema.
