do you think timesplitters would make a good movie?

If you made things a little more serious then i recon it would make a very entertaining film series What do you think?

Jumping from time period to time period, were things are a little bit off, technology that shouldn't be there and so on.

I didn't check if there was a similar thread on the TS2 board.

Death to Michael Greenburg! First he Kill's Apophis now he Kill's Fraser. B*stard!

reply

In reference to 2 posts before me, I agree with most of what you said except Tom Cruise as Harry Tipper... Why? You would need a funny, character actor
Also Vinne Jones wouldn't make a good Khallos, bring in the guy who played Blofeld or just use Mike Myers in a Dr Evil spin off

reply

amy chen=lucy lui

reply

For the guy who mentioned Blofeld, there has been many actors but the most famous is Donald Pleasence but he is dead. I would use Mike Myers for Tipper and Khallos.

reply

I think Larry Fishbourne would be great as Cortez. He looks like him. I also think that William H. Macy would be hilarious as Crow.

reply

[deleted]

I think Sean connery would be an awsome Captain Ash.

reply

If there is to be a TimeSplitters movie, it should have monkeys caring guns. Why? Because they were present through every game. Besides, it would be hilarious to watch the movie and suddenly find monkeys with guns appearing within the film. It would be totally random!

reply

Sean Connery = Captain Ash
Mike Myers = Harry Tipper and Khallos
Vin Diesel = Cortez
Keanu Reeves = Young Crow?

That's all I can think of...
Oh yeah, and get the same guy who did the voice for R-110 to do the voice...

"Yo squirrel food, click your heels three times an' repeat, "I need a life". -Boo, Psychic Academy

reply

If there was to be a Timesplitters movie they would first have to solve some of the plot holes in the game.

For example if crow from the past (1994) was given the time machine and went into the future to give old crow the time machine and to begin the machine war, then the old crow from 2055 (i think) would not exist, because his younger self would be in the future instead of 1994

reply

It's a REALLY confusing plot hole:

Old crow goes back in time to give the time machine to young crow, who goes forward in time to give the time machine to his older self so he can go back in time to give the time machine to his younger self, who goes forward in time...

See? It's an endless loop...

"I'M FALLING ASLEEP AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!"

reply

another loop is from the second level, when cortez from the future gives the cortez from the past the key.

reply

[deleted]

no the robot would be cgi

reply

cgi? lots of people.. including myself, are kinda tired with cgi stuff, maybe an actor on a very cool robot costume could do it.

reply

nah that would look so dated, even from a person like me who doen't like cgi, it would look a hell of alot better by computer than an actor in a suit.

I feel that The Rock has more of the light side of Cortez's character than Vin Deisel does. Also, it's not like the Rock can't kick ass in his films, so would he not be another candidate to playing Cortez?

Finnigan...ARGH!!!!

reply

[deleted]

The Rock is Hawaiian, not black. Personally, I don't think that Cortez should be played by Vin Diesel. Just because he's bald doesn't make him a good candidate. His voice is also different. If they do make a movie, they should get some new guy to play him.

I hear it's actually in development now... I think Vin Diesel is too big to play Cotrez now. So who else?

reply

Uhhh. The makers of the game actually stated that Cortez was a spoof on Riddick a character played by Vin Diesel. But other than that I think that this would be a great movie. Good action and comedy, I loved the game so hopefully if they do make a movie it will be just as good if not better.

reply

I am making a Timesplitters low budget fan film that is a whole new story and only uses the characters:

Cortez(he isn't bald its him younger)
The General
and Jacob Crow

It follows a whole different storyline and is low budget

"I'm Here, humbled and humiliated, to ask you one thing: I want you to kill Peter Parker."

reply

no

I will not buy this tobacconists, it is scratched.

reply

Plot hole? The key can be considered a plot hole, but you can assume it was on the other side of the door, and Cortez took it so that he had two keys. the one he got from himself and the one he would later pass on to himself.

The crow thingy is a bit fruitier.

First, old crow worked his ass off making his robot army. then his plans were foiled by a freaky ass bald man and a girl. he escaped and invented a time device. Then he made another. he used one to go back in time to give himself a time device, to give himself the time he wasted on making a robot army and the time device to spend on his evil scheme - creating the timesplitters and become immortal. But, young crow lacked the technology to start off with the timesplitters, so he made a second time device and went to his older self just before he escaped from cortez. Old crow now had a time device, and used it to go back in time to get khallos and his men to form an army so that he could work in relative safety and so that he could mine for the time crystals. during his research he found some kind of energy field on that island you visit in 1924 - and headed there to find the time crystals he used to make the time splitters.

So:
young crow is a social outcast. creates zombies to have some friends.
young crow's zombies are destroyed. tries to build robots.
young crow loses his hair and sex appeal. becomes old crow.
old crow's robots kick the bucket. tries to make a time device to warn himself of that time traveler that explained his story but nothing made sense. He was going to make it all true.
Time device complete. Made another.
old crow traveled back to 1994 and gives himself time device two.
young crow makes a second time device and gives it to his older self to have the technology and robots to create the timesplitters.
meanwhile, old crow goes to the sixties, buys a wig, some dirty clothes, a sixpack and forms a pact with khallos for manpower.
the island with the crystals is mined so that the timesplitters can travel through time without a time device - the power of the crystals runs through their blood.
there are like, four or five different crows involved in this entire scheme. this game follows the concept that time is changable, and not a straight line. You do not need to have been visited by your older self to be able to go back in time and visit yourself - it can happen but it will change the future... unless you're a nobody that doesn't affect jack.

there really isn't a plothole but you have to keep thinking that you can change the past. Like cortez helping himself out in the final level. he wasn't there before but he comes to his own rescue. crow was doing that all the time, and a lot of it, too.

Cortez: Vin Diesel
The General: Christopher Walken
Young Crow: David Ducovney
Old Crow: Sir Ian McKellen
Jo-Beth: Lyndsy Fonseca
Harry Tipper: Tommy Chong
Khallos: Bruce Campbell
Kitten Celeste: Carmen Elektra
Captain Ash: Sean Connery
Amy Chen: Lucy Liu
R110: Bobcat Goldthwait

Oh wow. What? Did I say something? Never mind.

Old Crow: Christopher Lloyd

Anya = Jessica Biel

Jo-Beth= Keira Knightley

Lucy Lui would most definetely be cast as Amy Chen. But I think Harrison Ford is too old to be anything.

And Nathan Fillion should play Harry Tipper.

As long as it's not Uwe Boll directing it.

I'd rather have Second Sight be made into a film.

reply

I don't really play games, but TimeSplitters is a series i was really in to.

I don't have any of the new consoles (x-box 360, ps3...) but TimeSplitters 4 is the only reason i would get one. (so i probably wont - waste of money)

But if a film was made of TimeSplitters, i'd be in the cinema on the opening day.

I don't know about characters, because they would probably reflect a new story.
Although, if they include the game stories at the start, and adapted on them, that would be quite cool.
Sgt. Cortez as the main bloke obviously.
then you want to see the classics:
Harry Tipper
Captain Ash
Zombies
Basically, if they have as many characters as possible.

Locations:
Neo-Tokyo, Siberia, Planet-X, Chicago, Robot Factory, Wild West, Haunted Mansion, Aztec ruins, London, Scotland (from TS3) loads of others that revolve around the story.

Vin Disel is a dick.

reply

IF they made it serious, it would be lame: the serious moments in the games are few and far between.
