I hate fake mythology...

They need to just stick with the story of the turtles. What the hell is all this about gods and monsters and all this fake mythology crap. It doesn't belong in the world of TMNT. It's just such an easy way out of having to write an actual good story. Anyone can make up some fake ridiculous mythology. Uhhhhh....like 5,000 years ago, there was a man who died, before he died he vowed to get revenge on all who betrayed him. So 5,000 years later now, 12 spirits are released into the world to exact revenge on those who betrayed him. Only the souls of those people can bring him back to life once again.....there I just made a movie

No one will argue that the best parts of this movie involved the family dynamics of the turtles. The battle under the rain was better than all the other god/monster stuff combined.

Brilliant

But yeah, I completely agree. The fake mythology was a complete cop out; I've been a turtles fan all my life and this story got so convoluted and boring that for the first time in my life I almost walked right out of the cinema.

If you're irritated by people making up ridiculous stuff that never happened, you should probably stop watching movies about talking turtles who know martial arts.

Anyone here mentions Hotel California dies before the first line clears his lips.

I totally agree, offdwallnotdrack.

It seems that when a writer doesn't truly understand the characters they try to focus more on plot obstacles. In this case, it seems the director had more passion for his fictional mythology and metal suited vigilante than the Turtles. Thus the story revolves more around arbitray plot contrivances than the characters people came to watch.

There was no clear or compelling reason why the Turtles should risk their life to get involved in the plot. That was a job for the police and scientists.

The emphasis on expository dialog was particularly dissappointing to me.

I don't mind fake mythology if it's done smart. This one seems to be just pulled out of someone's ass and tacked onto the TMNT world just for the sake of adding something "new" for the sake of "new". There's so much other ideas they could've explored WITHIN the TMNT universe itself, they really didn't need to add this to it.

Isn't ALL mythology fake? Hence myth?

Not to mention this is a movie about Mutant. Ninja. Turtles.

Upset the fictional story had fictional elements?
