Decent reviews? [Spoilers in part of the message]

Snow Angels has only a 67% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In my opinion this is probably the best movie of the year so far. Many critic's complaint was that it was too depressing but can that really be a complaint. [SPOILERS] Just too point out a few events that happen. A little girl is found dead in a river. A man kills his wife. This man than kills himself which is his second suicide attempt. Those are depressing events. [END OF SPOILERS] There was no way to make this film not some what depressing. Even though I believe the relationship of the younger characters makes the film a little happier.

Does anyone else agree that this was a depressing movie but it was also a great movie and immensely underrated by critics?

I don't think the movie was as good as it could have been, in my opinion. I think there were many scenes which were pointless and did not add anything to the movie. I really thought the book was much better.

Apparently, though, my opinion means crap around here, because as someone pointed out, I posted a few times on the 'Sex and the City' board so I guess that makes my opinion null and void.

What scenes did you think were pointless?

I agree. Too many pointless scenes at the beginning. After a while I gave up and didn't care what happened to any of the characters anymore. Could have been a lot better. It did not have to be 105 minutes. They could have told the story in 85.

For me I would have preferred if it was even longer. What scenes were pointless?
