Sequel to 'Hoot' (Splash)

This is a sequel to "Hoot" and you should read the book before you read this story. I am posting this story for my friend Tay. I have her permission to post her story. Tay will be happy if read and leave comments. So here is the fisrt chapter.

If it weren’t for Mullet Fingers Roy wouldn’t have loved Florida as much as he did now. After what happened with the owls and the bulldozing Roy wondered how much more fun Florida could be. He hadn’t even had this much fun in Montana. When Roy got to school the day after the groundbreaking ceremony he didn’t expect what would happen next. Roy was pulled aside by one of his best friends Beatrice Leep. Beatrice was a tall blond girl with red-framed glasses and was known throughout the school as Beatrice the Bear. “What’s up?” asked Roy.
“Mullet has gotten into, once again, another construction site, and this time it ain’t owls.”
“Well what is it he trying to protect?” asked Roy.
“Turtle Eggs.”
Roy rolled his eyes and prayed to let that boy find better things to do. Turtle eggs, out of everything and this time Roy wondered if they did have the right to bulldoze the site.
“Meet Mullet and me in the ice cream truck after school. Pronto!” said Beatrice before hurrying off to her first class.
All during class Roy was bugged at the thought that he would be going through this all over again. Only this time he knew Mullet Fingers and well, unfortunately so do the doctors. Roy wasn’t just worried about that, he was also scared of being caught this time because of the whole town knowing who was involved with the last construction site.
“Mr. Eberhardt?” called Mr. Ryan.
Roy was suddenly jolted to class.
“Atlantic Ocean.” whispered a voice
“Huh?” asked Roy.
“The answer is Atlantic Ocean.”
“Well, Roy?” said Mr. Ryan.
“Um, Atlantic Ocean?” answered Roy.
“Correct Roy and you should probably thank Garrett for saving you while you were daydreaming. Please try to stay in class and not drift off to LaLa land.” replied Mr. Ryan.
Roy blushed while he looked at Garrett who gave him a thumbs up. Garrett was Roy’s other best friend whom he had known since the first day of school. Garrett was a short, blond skateboarder and was always asking Roy to go to the mall to skateboard with him and his friends.
Finally 3:00 rolled around and Roy dashed out of the school building as fast as the rules allowed him to. Unfortunately Dana Matherson, who is the biggest and meanest kid in the whole school, caught Roy by his backpack and pulled him towards himself. Dana Matherson was really big, really mean, and his punches are enough to knock you to the moon. Dana Matherson had gotten Roy a suspension from the bus for two weeks and the vice-principle forced Roy to write an apology letter. Roy was still being picked on even though Dana got a broken nose and was striped to his underwear by a girl. Dana just wouldn’t give up.
“Where ya going cowgirl?” asked Dana.
Roy gave a weak smile and answered “Home, where else?”
“You’re kinda in a rush to get home. Aren’t ya?”
Roy gave a nervous laugh, “Yea, you’re right I might as well take my time you know and enjoy this perfect day?”
“Knock off the cheesy act, cowgirl, it ain’t going to help you.” And with that Dana knocked Roy to the floor and made sure he stayed there by putting his foot on Roy’s chest.
Roy couldn’t breathe and was getting ready to do something to Dana’s foot when Mr. Ryan, the marine biology teacher, stepped out of a classroom.
Dana got anxious and quickly said, “Oh, here Roy let me help you up.”
Dana reached down to give Roy his hand but when he looked down Roy had already gotten off the ground and dashed out of the school. Dana growled and mumbled to himself as he stomped off to catch his bus.

Officer David Delinko was recently promoted to detective after he was working so hard to solve the vandalism at the construction site where the owls were located. Now he was known as Detective David Delinko. Detective work was his dream job and when he found out he would be doing it he jumped for joy. His first assignment included a robbery in North Florida. Now he was on a month break for the summer and was planning to relax the whole time, maybe go to the beach.
Detective Delinko had just woken up from a great nights sleep and was ready for a cup of coffee and a huge breakfast of French toast and sausage. He walked over to the refrigerator and pulled out some bread, eggs, and sausage. After getting the bread prepared and putting it on the stove to cook he started cutting the sausage. Then the phone rang. Detective Delinko turned off the stove, so his food wouldn’t burn and walked to the phone.
“Hello?”
“Ah, Detective Delinko, just who I wanted to talk to, this is Mayor Bruce Grandy.”
“Oh, hi Mayor Grandy, may I help you with something?” asked Detective Delinko.
“Well, I just wanted to know if you knew about the new hotel being built.” replied Mayor Grandy.
“You mean the new Owl Summit?”
“Yes, that’s the one, I wondered if you wanted to be the supervisor over the construction because of what happened with the Mother Paula’s Pancake House.” said Mayor Grandy.
“I would love to, when does the construction start?” asked Detective Delinko.
“The survey stakes are being put up tomorrow and the construction will continue after that.”
Detective Delinko got a little uneasy. “Have the grounds been inspected?”
“The head supervisor, whom you might know of, is Curly or Leroy Branditt, said that they inspected the whole lot and no animal was found.” replied Mayor Grandy.
“Sure, I would love to do the job!” answered Detective Delinko deciding he could use something to keep him busy over the summer. And with that thought in mind he hung up and continued making his breakfast, thinking about what excitement would be in this assignment.

Roy was running as fast as he could to get to the ice cream truck to meet Beatrice and her step-brother Mullet Fingers, or as Roy recently found out Napoleon Bridger Leep. Mullet Fingers was straw-blond and wiry, and his skin was nut-brown from the sun. Mullet Fingers had just recently escaped from Juvenile Detention and Beatrice was now making sure Lonna didn’t find him. When Roy arrived at the ice cream truck Beatrice and Mullet Fingers were talking over what Mullet Fingers found out and what he was going to do to stop it once and for all.
“Hey guys!” said Roy cheerfully as he walked into the truck.
“What’s up Tex?” asked Mullet Fingers.
“Not much but I have heard that you have gotten into another bulldozing problem?” answered Roy.
Mullet Fingers gave a chuckle, “Yep, and this time they haven’t discovered the animals.”
“What do you mean?” asked Roy.
Beatrice broke in, “He’s saying that the turtle laid their eggs after the inspection and they never discovered that the turtles were ever there.”
Roy sighed, “They’ll figure it out once they see turtles everywhere, won’t they?”
Mullet Fingers rolled his eyes, “You don’t get it do you?”
Roy shook his head.
“Turtles always roam the lot they are going to build on and all they will do is scoot them out of the way and go on working. This is their nesting season and nobody pays any attention to that and how important it is.” explained Mullet Fingers.
Roy just stared at Mullet Fingers; he couldn’t believe Mullet was going to get him into this situation yet again.
“So you gotta plan?” asked Roy.
Mullet Fingers looked at Roy with that same wild in his eyes that he saw in them the day he first saw him running.
“Sure do.” Mullet Fingers smiled and Roy knew what that meant. The outlaw attitude was kicking in.

here is chapter 2. Enjoy.

After breakfast Detective Delinko set off to get a good look at the new construction site. Detective Delinko climbed into his new cruiser and drove in the direction of the new hotel. While Detective Delinko was driving he noticed a kid running like crazy and decided to follow him. Detective Delinko had to drive over the speed limit just to catch up with this kid, he was running like crazy! Detective Delinko decided to stop him and ask him where he was going and why he was running so fast. Detective Delinko drove faster and put on his only siren that was given to him in case of a emergency. The siren blasted the air and the running boy looked behind him but never stopped. In fact the boy picked up speed. ‘This kid is incredible!’ thought Detective Delinko. Detective Delinko sped up trying to catch up to the kid but just couldn’t catch him. The detective gave up because he knew that kid didn’t want to be caught and he never would. Detective Delinko turned to the direction of the construction site and slowed to the speed limit.
Detective Delinko thought about the kid as he drove and knew he looked familiar. He looked like that kid in the paper who tried to stop the owls but Detective Delinko knew that it couldn’t be him because the boy was put in Juvenile Detention along with that clueless bully. Detective Delinko kept driving until he reached the construction site.
As he climbed out Curly grumpily came to greet him. Curly was the supervisor engineer with a grumpy attitude. As Curly walked over to greet Detective Delinko he tripped in a small ditch and fell. Detective Delinko got out of his car and walked over to help Curly.
“Here let me help you up.” offered Detective Delinko.
“I’m fine, I’m fine,” grouched Curly, “I just tripped in that dang ditch, that’s all.”
As Curly stood up Detective Delinko noticed a sea turtle crawl by. Now Detective Delinko was getting suspicious because even Mayor Grandy said that no animal lived in the lot they were building on. Curly looked at him.
“What you looking at?” asked Curly.
“Oh, that turtle over there.” replied Curly
“Well what about the turtle?”
“Mayor Grandy said that there were no animals living on this lot and I just wondered if he was informed right or if another animal problem was being overlooked.” answered Detective Delinko.
“I assure you everything is in working order and the construction will start tomorrow as planned with no interference.” said Curly.
“Are you sure?” asked Detective Delinko.
Curly stared at him with what looked like anger burning in his eyes.
“I think the question is, are you.” replied Curly.

Roy had trouble falling asleep that night. Mullet Finger’s plan to stop the construction wasn’t the safest plan in the world or in Mullet’s mind anyway. Beatrice even agreed with Roy that the plan was pretty risky, but she knew Mullet could handle it.
The next morning Roy got up to a gloomy rainy day. ‘No interfering today’ thought Roy. When he walked downstairs his mom had breakfast ready to go and his father was reading the newspaper.
“Morning sleepy head, thank goodness it’s Saturday or else you would have slept right through school.” said Mrs. Eberhardt in a cheerful tone.
“Have any plans for today?” asked Mr. Eberhardt not even looking up from the newspaper.
“No, not unless the rain picks up, why?” replied Roy.
“Just wondering because you know that room is a pig’s pen.”
Roy gave a sly smile and continued eating breakfast until the plate was clean. After cleaning his dishes he dashed to his room to clean. While making his bed he heard a bump on his window. Roy walked to the window and saw Beatrice standing in the pouring rain waving her hand to come out. Roy held up one finger and ran to put on his boots and a jacket. When he was ready he told his parents he was going to Beatrice’s house and would be back later. With that he dashed out the door to join Beatrice.
“Where are we going?” asked Roy
“Grab your bike, I’ll explain it on the way.” answered Beatrice.
Roy opened the garage door and hopped on his chili pepper red bike and both kids took off. While they were riding the rain slowed to a sprinkle and the sun peeked out from behind the clouds.
“So, where are we going?” asked Roy
Beatrice looked around to make sure nobody was listening.
“Mullet almost got busted yesterday while he was trying out the first step of his ‘plan’.” answered Beatrice.
“Ouch.” replied Roy.
“Ya, so he told me he needs you for his next step.”
Roy froze. He wasn’t too crazy about the whole hit and run thing especially when he didn’t do so well in gym last semester.
“Come on it will be fun.” said Beatrice.
Roy gave a nervous laugh. “Ya, fun.”

Detective Delinko was on his way to Coconut Cove City Hall. He wanted to find out if the turtles were ever discovered. As Detective Delinko turned in the direction of the City Hall he noticed Roy with a girl. Detective Delinko pulled to a stop and rolled down his window.
“Hey Roy, where are you and your heading in this weather?”
“Oh, hi Detective Delinko, we are going to my friend Beatrice’s house to work on our science project for school.” answered Roy.
“Well good luck and have a nice day.” said Detective Delinko.
Detective Delinko watched the two kids until they turned the corner before rolling up his window and taking off for the City Hall.
Once at City Hall Detective Delinko stepped out of his cruiser and walked into the building. Detective Delinko walked up to the front desk and requested the file for Owl Summit hotel.
“Description.” said the man at the front desk.
“Well, it’s located on Coconut Cove beach about 45 feet from the water.” answered Detective Delinko trying to remember the location.
“One minute.” said the man.
The man who was pale-faced and pinched-looking shoulders walked to the filing cabinet and pulled out a gigantic stack of files. He walked back over and set the files down in front of Detective Delinko.
“Have fun.” said the man and left Detective Delinko alone to search for the right file.
Detective Delinko didn’t know where to start but picked a file that was named construction permits. He opened the file and saw that in the space under protected organisms was written ‘Clear’. Detective Delinko was suddenly feeling queasy and decided to go home and talk to the mayor. Detective Delinko knew that he hadn’t seen the last of the kids who were in charge of the owl vandalism.

here is chapter 3. Tell me and Tay what you think so far.

Mullet Fingers was fast asleep when Roy and Beatrice arrived at the ice cream truck. Roy remembered what Beatrice said about Mullet’s police chase and knew he was wiped out. Roy just couldn’t understand how Mullet Fingers could deal with all this, hiding all his life, sneaking home for food and clean clothes.
“Poor Guy,” said Beatrice, “he’s worn out.”
Roy nodded he couldn’t possibly imagine how hard it must be to protect an animal while trying to stay hidden. Roy watched Mullet Fingers sleeping very peacefully like he was having a really good dream.
After a while Mullet Fingers sat up and rubbed his eyes.
“Hey sleepy head, what tired you out?” asked Beatrice.
Mullet Fingers yawned and stretched before answering “Well, this beige cruiser has been on to me a couple of times while I was running to either get supplies or check out the status of one of my hideouts. Once he even put on his siren.”
“What did you do?” asked Roy
“What do ya mean ‘what did I do’ I just picked up speed and eventually he got tired of chasing me, maybe getting the hint that I didn’t want to be followed.” replied Mullet Fingers.
Beatrice shook her head and Roy knew one of these days Mullet was gonna get caught because he can’t run forever.
“So Beatrice told me that you wanted me for the next step of your plan.” said Roy anxiously hoping Mullet has changed his mind.
“Ya about that I really don’t have the next step of the plan and that’s why I kind of needed you for that.” Mullet Fingers gave a pleading look and Roy just couldn’t help saying yes because he knew Mullet was desperate and wouldn’t give up whether you liked it or not.
“Why not,” said Roy, “it’s worth a shot.”
Mullet Fingers smiled and Roy gave him a high five before telling him he will try and have the plan ready by tomorrow.
“Thanks!” said Mullet Fingers
“No Problem.” replied Roy before saying good bye to Beatrice and Mullet and getting on his bike to head home.
On the way home Roy thought about the trouble he could get into again and decided that this plan would be all Mullet Fingers and exclude him with all possibilities. Just then an idea popped into Roy’s mind, he remembered reading that Detective Delinko was going to be the watch man for the hotel construction. Roy decided to do a little searching on the web for what might be his next resource.

Detective Delinko rushed home to call the Mayor about what his suspicions were. Once Detective Delinko arrived home he ran into his house and immediately got out the phone book to look up Mayor Grandy’s number. Once he found it he picked up the phone and dialed the Mayor. A woman answered the phone.
“Hello, Mayor Grandy’s office how may I help you?” asked the woman.
Detective Delinko answered “Yes may I speak to Mayor Grandy?”
“One moment please.”
After what seemed like forever Mayor Grandy got on the phone.
“Yes, Mayor Grandy here how may I be of assistance?”
“Mayor Grandy? This is Detective Delinko and I wanted to share my concerns about the new hotel going up on Coconut Cove Beach.” replied Detective Delinko.
“Ah, David yes please tell me your concerns because we can’t afford any unhappy tourists.”
“Well yesterday I drove over to the construction site just to check it out and everything. While I was there I noticed a couple turtles walk by and Curly mentioned to ignore them but I also saw a kid running along the street with no shoes on and he looked guilty.” explained Detective Delinko.
“Hmm, it might just be a coincidence because we inspected the lot and no protected animals were found.” said Mayor Grandy.
“Yes, but I have also looked at the files and it said under organisms ‘clear’ could it be possible that the turtles could have arrived after inspection?” asked Detective Delinko.
“That might be true, I will look into it but for now just concentrate on keeping the construction safe and ready to bulldoze. Thank you for your concerns and I will update you as soon as possible. Have a great day. Good Bye.” said Mayor Grandy before hanging up the phone.
Detective Delinko hung up the phone then sat down with some chips to relax and go over the events that have happened.
Just as Detective Delinko sat down the doorbell rang. Detective Delinko sighed and got up to go answer the door.

Roy stood at the door of Detective Delinko with a head full of questions to ask him. Once Detective Delinko answered the door Roy told him his purpose and was invited to come in.
Roy sat down on Detective Delinko’s couch and Detective Delinko across from Roy.
“Ask away.” said Detective Delinko.
“Ok, well first I have come to ask you if you have noticed any turtles around the construction site of the new Owl Summit?” asked Roy.
“Yes I have. Why do you ask Roy?”
“Well no reason really but my friends and I have seen them around and suspect the committee inspected the grounds before the turtles nested in the lot.” explained Roy.
“I have the same concern and have informed Mayor Grandy about the issue, if that makes you feel any better.” informed Detective Delinko.
“Great I will have to tell my friends and could you please update me of this subject?” asked Roy.
“Of coarse Roy, anything else I should know about?” asked Detective Delinko heading for the door.
“No I think that’s all. Thank you for your help Detective.” replied Roy as he walked out the door.
Roy couldn’t wait to tell Mullet Fingers and Beatrice about this news. Roy decided to wait until tomorrow to tell them about everything he discovered.
Roy turned towards home and when he arrived there he walked in and after saying hi to his parents ran up to his room to do his homework even though it was Saturday and he only had a worksheet for Mr. Ryan.
Once in his room he got out his pencil and worksheet and rushed through his work in only ten minutes. After cleaning his desk his mother called him for lunch.
Roy walked downstairs to the smell of grilled cheese sandwiches. He grabbed a sandwich and some chips on a plate and sat down to the table.
“My Roy you sure are hungry.” said his mother.
Roy smiled “Ya that breakfast wore off after I left Beatrice’s house.”
“Well eat up because your friend Garrett called and wanted you to call back when you got home.” informed Mrs. Eberhardt.
After Roy gobbled down his lunch and took a long drink of cherry coke he picked up the cordless phone and went to his room. Roy dialed Garrett’s number and waited for an answer.
“Hello?” answered a voice.
Roy took a deep breath “Yes is Garrett home?”
“Is this Roy?” asked the voice
“Yes.” replied Roy.
“Hey it’s Garrett, what’s up?”
“Not much, my mom told me you called and I decided to call to see what you wanted.” said Roy.
“Cool, well I just wanted to know if you wanted to go grab some ice cream at the Coconut Cream.”
“Why not.” decided Roy
“Cool meet me outside your house with your bike.” said Garrett and hung up.
Roy went downstairs to tell his mom he will be gone for an hour or so and would see her soon. Roy walked outside and into the garage to get his bike. Once Roy pulled out his bike Garrett came riding up on his skateboard.
“Let’s go, I have to talk to you about a couple of things when we get there.” said Garrett and he and Roy started off to go to the ice cream store.
On the way something caught Roy’s eye. When Roy looked behind him he saw a blur of blond and nut brown and knew exactly who he saw and smiled.

hey guys. here is chapter 4. tell us what you think. constructive criticism would help. if you have suggestions tell us.

Detective Delinko arrived at the construction site early that morning to supervise the putting up of the survey stakes. When he arrived Curly came out to greet him but in a grumpy way. While Curly was making his way over to Detective Delinko, Curly was alert of any ditches in his path.
“What are you here for?” asked Curly as if he had no need for a watch man.
“I came to watch over the construction, didn’t Mayor Grandy inform you?” replied Detective Delinko.
“Coarse he did but I didn’t expect you here so early. I expected you if bed at least until nine.” said Curly.
Detective Delinko blushed. What Curly said reminded him of the time he fell asleep on a stake out and received his police cruiser’s windows spray painted black.
“Well I’m here now so just ignore me and go back to whatever it was you were doing.” said Detective Delinko.
Curly shrugged and trudged back to his trailer watching for ditches on his way.
Detective Delinko decided to have a look at one of the ditches to see who or what could possibly live in it. Detective Delinko crept down low and peeked in the hole. He couldn’t believe what he saw, a whole big batch of pure white eggs. Detective Delinko thought for a minute and realized that the eggs were turtle eggs! So Roy and his friends were right but Detective Delinko still didn’t know if the committee was ignoring them or haven’t discovered the eggs yet.
Detective Delinko decided to ask Curly if he knew about the eggs.
“Mr. Curly, can you come here on minute please?” yelled Detective Delinko.
Curly can stomping out of the trailer.
“What do you want now?” Curly yelled back.
“I think I found a valuable piece of evidence.” said Detective Delinko.
“Evidence for what?” asked Curly.
“Never mind, I will be back later this afternoon to continue my watching. Good Bye.” said Detective Delinko and got up off the ground and started walking towards his car.
Detective Delinko started home in his beige cruiser eager to call Mayor Grandy and explain the problem with the construction site but Detective Delinko was concerned that Mayor Grandy wouldn’t believe him. Detective Delinko thought for a moment and then decided to hold off on what he saw until he had further proof. There was nothing Detective Delinko could do and felt helpless. All of a sudden Detective Delinko felt like a light bulb went off in his head. He had the perfect idea.

Roy and Garrett arrived at the ice cream store and grabbed a booth.
“So what’s the big news?” asked Roy eagerly.
“Well I know from my mom that Dana got busted yesterday for stealing some pretty expensive sneakers from Dick’s Sporting Goods and now he is suspended from the bus for the rest of the year.” said Garrett.
Roy’s jaw dropped he was sure Dana had learned his lesson after he got sent to juvenile hall. He even tried to escape but got caught because he ran too slowly compared to his escape partner.
“So are you shocked?” asked Garrett.
“Uh,Ya. Where did he go? Jail or Juvenile?” asked Roy.
“I’m not sure yet, I think the police are still deciding because of his previous records.” replied Garrett.
“Wow, I was sure he had learned his lesson after the first time.” said Roy.
“You’d think.” said Garrett with a hint of sarcasm.
The two boys walked up to the front counter and ordered two double chocolate fudge sundaes. Once their ice cream was delivered the boys gobbled it down and got back on their bikes to head for the fishing docks.
On the way to the docks Garrett kept hounding Roy with questions about the new hotel going up. Roy assumed Garrett figured that out from his mother and heard Roy was apart of it somehow.
“What are you going to do?” asked Garrett as soon as Roy finished explaining the problem to Garrett being careful not to mention Mullet Fingers.
“I don’t know.” answered Roy.
“Well, dude you better get going on this plan because the survey stakes went up today and those turtles won’t hatch on command.” said Garrett.
“I know I was planning on heading over to Beatrice’s tomorrow to tell her what I have discovered and hope that she can come up with something.” explained Roy.
Finally the boys reached the fishing dock and rented a couple fishing poles and bought some bait. Then they both found a nice peaceful place on the dock and cast their lines.
After about two hours of fishing the two boys decided to return their poles and head home. Once the boys exchanged good-byes Roy went in his house and sat down to eat dinner. Tonight Mrs. Eberhardt made hotdogs and baked beans. Once Roy was finished with his dinner he and his family decided to go into the family room and watch Roy’s favorite movie Holes.
After the movie was over Mrs. Eberhardt sent Roy up to his room to get a good nights sleep. Once Roy was in bed and all tucked in he begin to go over all his thoughts in his mind. After a while he fell asleep and was deep into a dream when something (or somebody) jolted him awake. Roy opened his eyes and sat up in bed. he tried to scream but a hand covered his mouth and he was to scared to lick it because heck who knows where it has been. Roy was still drowsy and couldn’t see very well but made out a average height figure. That wouldn’t help much though so Roy pulled the hand away and jumped out of bed backing away from the intruder.
“Chill, Tex, it’s only me.”

When Detective Delinko got home he tried calling Roy but his mom claimed he had gone out with a friend and would not be home for a while. Detective Delinko waited hoping to hear from Roy but now he gave up and decided to try again tomorrow.
Detective Delinko decided to go to bed so he could be alert and awake tomorrow while he was guarding the construction site. He walked to his room and did his routine to prepare for bed, brushing his teeth, getting into his pajamas, and setting his alarm clock.
After he was all set he turned off his light and tried to fall asleep. Detective Delinko dozed off a few times but just couldn’t fall asleep. He decided to go to the kitchen and sit down at the table with a glass of milk.
On his way to the kitchen he turned on almost every light that he found. He just hated the dark and couldn’t stand it especially when he was alone in the dead of night. Every noise he heard scared him, the ice maker, the dog next door, and a police siren going down the street. When he got to the kitchen he got out a cup and poured some milk into it. Detective Delinko got ready to sit down when he heard a crash seeming to come from right outside his house.
Detective Delinko rushed outside in his blue and yellow plaid pajamas and fuzzy slippers. When he got outside he looked around he wondered why he even bothered running outside. Parked in his driveway was a red pickup truck with Detective Delinko’s mailbox and half his fence clinging to it.
When the driver got out Detective Delinko rolled his eyes and walked toward the victim. Detective Delinko almost fell over once he saw who the person was.

You should really patent something like this before you go posting it on these boards. I mean it would be all to easy for me to copy and paste it then patent it and the sell it off as my own doing.

lol. you did not copyright it at all moron. you seem to forget that since hoot the original novel and now screenplay has been copyrighted by the author all character snad places and storylines are copyrighted too so by saying you copyrighted your "hoot" sequel you are infringing the rights in which copyrighting something embelishes therefore you can be sued yourself besides you would need to get perission from the author and now the film studio who released the film as they have rights to the novel now as well and then you would have to get copyrights but sicne i highly doubt you have copyrighted it. you may say you have but you have not. so do not say you have since you have nto and just saying you have can lead to a lawsuit against you and your little friend tay.
