The location for this movie was oh so beautiful

This movie was on the Hallmark Channel the other day and the film location (Avalon, Santa Catalina Island) was just amazingly awesome. I love living in the city but yeah, I'd love to live in an idyllic place like this one day.

Yes, the location was gorgeous, I had no idea it existed. I'd love to visit the island one day. So cute and pretty and picturesque.

Catalina is very nice, but a little spendy. We stayed there for 4 days 3 years ago. There is good snorkeling in Lover's Cove and they have glass bottom boat tours. In fact there was a Doris Day movie called the glass bottom boat and some of it is set in Catalina (very silly movie).

Some of the cruise ships stop there for a day or less on the way to Mexico so that's how some people see it.

But that's another reason I love this movie, it reminds me of the wonderful time we had there.

I would love to live there, came on here to find out where it was.

Why do they drive those little golf buggies? Are cars not allowed on the island?

reply

According to Wikipedia :

The use of motor vehicles on the island is restricted; there is a limit on the number of registered cars, which translates into a 14-year-long wait list to bring a car to the island. Most residents move around via golf carts. Because of these restrictions, there is no regular vehicle ferry service for visitors to take their car from the mainland to Catalina Island. Tourists can hire a taxi from Catalina Transportation Services. Bicycles are also a popular mode of transportation. There are a number of bicycle and golf cart rental agencies on the island.

Rule #1 - Remember... it's a movie & NOT reality
Rule #2 - If you can't remember #1... Get a life!!
