5.9? really?

comedy was there
acting was there

how is this movie 5.9? i swear IMDB community is a joke.

this movie imo deserves at least a 7 or a 7.5, it's not AMAZING but it was still enjoyable and i laughed at quite a few scenes. I find it amusing how some people expected this movie to have hardcore serious acting and/or a plot that would win an oscar...

it's a *beep* comedy.. it's Artie ffs..

if you didn't enjoy this movie and/or thought the acting was terrible then you seriously need to get your head out of your ass and learn to take it easy when you're watching a movie.. just sit back and enjoy, no need to criticize everything

7/10 from me.

5.9 is actually a lot higher than I expected...it deserves no more than a 5...

It's not a great movie, but it was freaking hilarious! 7/10

It is not the best but I thought it was a average comedy to be honest with you. That is why it came out on DVD instead of the movie theaters.

I was living up North up near Chicago and I do not remember seeing this in the Chicago Tribune and there are so many movie theaters up in Chicago that I am sure one of them would have been showing this film. I did not see it listed in the movie section. When I watched this I saw it on one of the premium channels or I rented it on DVD to watch it.

It was played on a limited number of screens which is why you probably didn't see it at your local theaters.

Yes that is true, but I am sure in Chicago it would have been shown at a movie theater because that is what happened with Zombie Strippers starring Jenna Jameson and Robert Englund in the film. I had to drive like an hour to the movie theater in Barrington, Illinois just to go see that movie since it was only being shown in certain movie theaters. I figured that Milwaukee would have been showing it since it is a large city. It would have been a closer drive for me than Barrington, Illinois.

You have to consider the way IMDb ratings and averages work. Each individual person has their own movies that they would give 10s/9s or 1s/2s to that most of the general public would be more in the middle on, right? This is why even the highest rated movies on IMDb are generally in the 8's and that it's very hard to find movies rated below a 3 or so.

So if you gave the movie a 7 and the public has it in the 5 range, it's really not that far off the mark. Generally speaking, most movies that the public LOVES (Oscar winners, cult classic, etc) are in the low 8s, movies the public likes a lot are in the 7 range, and movies in the 6 range are movies that are kind of split opinion and generally recognized as "solid." Movies in the 5 range are generally mediocre to OK for most people. The bulk of ratings will fall in the 7-6 range, with some fringe 8s and 5s. Being in the 5's on IMDb isn't so bad if you think it deserves a 7. If you felt it was a 10 and saw it in the 5's, that's a bit of a bigger discrepancy.

I think that there is an inherent tendency for movies to be averaged downwards into the next integer range below instead of upwards because we can only rate movies in integers and the ratings are capped at a 10.
