The stuff they DIDN'T cover

After watching this show several times, I realized several things:

If this planet were real, and humans could go visit, I don't think it would be a good idea. Based on what I saw, a lot of those alien animals are very dangerous, not to mention big, big enough to kill any hapless humans who got too close. The environment doesn't sound very friendly either, they said it was a hot planet, the atmosphere was different from our own, and the only water available on the planet was underground. Small wonder we sent probes in the story instead of actual people.

The worst of the aliens weren't even the predators; they were those floating balloon-headed creatures, who seemed pretty primitive and savage, despite their intelligence. I mean, the story ends with the creatures destroying Probe Ike because they thought it was attacking them. Despite their intelligence and having some sentience, the balloon-headed aliens were still violent, and saw most things around them as a threat, particularly an unknown one with the two probes. They would be the scariest thing to deal with on Darwin IV, because it wouldn't take much for them to attack.
