No one should be allowed to leave the show until the very last episode, The only drivers that actually learn anything from the show are the last three drivers who actually do the entire course, if all the drivers are allowed to go all through the entire course it might just actually save someone's life. letting him or her go home after the first episode is stupid.

There probably is much more going on behind the scenes than the viewer is aware, including the timeline (one episode is probably not one week in real time). Some of the nominees really do know how to drive, but just have the wrong attitude to be on the road. So if the experts feel that attitude has changed sufficiently, there is no reason to keep them there longer. Also, this is a television show, not real life. The producers' have television requirements to which they want to adhere.
