Just some random questions

I know the show's been cancelled for a decade, but I only just found it on Netflix and watched the only season in about four days. Something about it just clicked with me and I throughly enjoyed it. Among the many downsides to one season shows, especially old ones, is that there is often very little in the way of discussion.

I had some questions that may have been intended to be addressed in future seasons, but seeing as how that didn't happen I'm curious as to your answers, theoretical or factual.

1. Miles spends many nights searching the Web for info on Nimrod. Does he, and if so, how, never seem to run across reports of the other sightings we are shown?

2. On the same topic, there is a scene in which Rich & Miles are both in the same Website Chat room. The last screen shot shows a message with the text, "I raised one from an egg" or something like that. Miles then has to end his chat session. Why does Rich, nor the apparently all-seeing "Firm", never mention this post, nor search for the poster, aka Miles?

3. During the oncoming tsunami, Rich is trapped in a facility he knows has "at least
20 floors" below ground. He & Daughtry both see the trains leaving for the Marianna Trench. Rich has seen a man walking around on the ocean floor 5000 ft below the surface. Why do they then insist on going up, to sea level, to escape the waves, rather than staying down or hopping a train to the trench?

4. We get told numerous times that Miles isn't academically ambitious, yet he is obviously incredibly smart. Why then does it seem to take him so long to answer his own questions? He asks 10 people if it's possible his body is changing after having been bitten and just kind of accepts their brush-offs despite the evidence only he can see & feel on a daily basis.

5. Why does the aquarium director show true concern for Miles & Nim but then proceeds to deliberately cause Nim significant stress just to test his reactions, and then is totally surprised when Nim starts attacking employees?

These are sincere questions from a person who truly liked the show. Answers such as, "because the show sucked", really aren't necessary nor enlightening. I'm much more curious as to how these may have been addressed, if at all, in future eps.
