This film was hilarious at times..

In spots it really was funny as he-ll. Sean's deaf brother especially. The punk-to-christian rock lyrics..haha..vintage Gene Simmons Hungry Man frozen dinner..ROFL..it does work in the SPINAL TAP meets TREKKIES vein of Frozen Food dorks and their personal and professional lives.

Yeah, I was just gonna say, it's very Christopher Guest-ish...I love it!

Not a single laugh in this movie for me so i dunno what the *beep* you guys are talking about.

that's truly sad. perhaps you take life too seriously?

this movie had some outstanding dialogue and great characters.

This film was hilarious....at times...two or three of them. Well maybe hilarious is too strong a word. I was amusing at times. The rest of the time the film was just goofy and not in a fun way. The film was filled with simpsons-like sight gags that are kinda funny but they feel out of place in a live action film. Mockumnetaries and making fun of christians are two things that are really, really, really played out, as the kids say. (kids still say "played out" right?) Despite all that if you care about independent film it's at least interesting to see a low budget DV feature like this one.

This was the best indie comedy to come out in a while. So funny in so many parts, but religious overtones will kill it for popular release. Too many damn sensitive people out there.
I hope Sean and Co continue making these films because they are a breath of fresh air.

Hey SoundscapeMN, Sean's brother was a riot. The scene in the diner when the mother comes up to him with her son to talk to a real deaf guy killed me. I thought the whole movie was laugh out loud funny, creative and clever.

reply

hehe, yeah that particular part had me almost in tears.

The thing I'd love to find online, is some kind of samples to fwd a link to, to show others who

a) have never seen or even heard of this film

b) for those skeptical

esp just the scene with the Satanic -> Christian lyrics..I hang out online with so many musicians and music people..it would be a great way to draw their interest alone.

Hi SoundscapeMN, I imagine you've been there, but just in case: There is a Never Been Thawed website with links to others like the Christers website. There are mp3's on the Christers website. Good stuff, but I hope there is a CD. Sean said that he hoped that there would be one at the screening I went to last fall. Take Care, Turtleturk

reply

yeah, I went there..and it does have some stuff, but maybe for tact or age reasons..not wanting to put up a warning maybe..the scene where they change the lyrics was no where to be found. I mean unless they have uploaded it in the last few months.

You'd think someone on Youtube or GoogleVideo might even put it up.

I hope they get a CD for sale on the site by the time the DVD comes out. It'd be a good CD to play in the summer drive'n with the windows down. Still got my fingers crossed. Later, Turtleturk

I loved the Gene Simmons Hungry Man dinner, the lewd and rude disc jockeys, plus many of the other gags. I think this film is more miss than hit – which seems to be true of most comedies I see, especially the big-budget ones – but I'll cut these filmmakers some slack for the effort and give this 6/10 stars.

Sean's deaf brother especially.
Sean's brother was the first thing I would have dropped. No creativity at all in a film swimming with the stuff.

Also, something for the complainers to consider is that this film was literally slapped together. Given that, I thought it showed an amazing amount of creativity, in ways big and small. Have seen it several times.
