Room for one last scare. possible spoilers

After watching this movie I really thought their was room for one final scare, I was half expecting a body to be gone when she was walking around at the end, or the police officer who was knifed to come back and that to have being all one big act.

I think that was the point. The movie's ending is a surprise by not having a surprise because it is aware of how suspicious viewers get in the final minutes of a horror movie. It's optimistic and also borderline satirical because the movie is basically telling you "Why are you tense? The killer is dead and so are his minions. End of."
