share your creepy stories - part 2

I have been checking to see if there we any new stories but never realized the original thread was changed to read only until I saw the post asking about it.

So, if we could continue sharing creepy/scary stories I would really love it. I have a new one to add, everyone please feel free to add or contribute to the thread. I love to be scared.

I was working alone last week and the building was dark except my area. I went down the hall to the ladies room, and when I got back to my office the light was turned off in my section. I was fairly sure I hadn't done it, because I wasn't leaving for the night or anything. I convinced myself I must have though, and continued working.

Later on I went in the back kitchen area and saw the microwave turned on. I thought I was alone, and was a little creeped out because my boss always tells me if someone will be there late (I lock up so I have to know who else may be there). I called out "hello, is anyone here". Nothing. I jumped when the microwave beeped.

As I went back to my desk to grab my coat and keys and get the heck out of there, I turned a corner and walked right into the "intruder" which was a new IT guy who was working late on an urgent issue. Nobody told me he was there, and he thought he was alone (which is why he turned off the light in my area) and we both just started screaming.

It took us both a minute to realize how stupid it was to be so scared and he was the first to speak. "How about we never tell anyone about this?" he asked. I agreed and lol'ed on the way back to my desk.

Maybe I have read too many creepy stories.

^ Your story made me laugh so much! XD

My story's not really creepy, but mainly funny.

A few years ago, I was probably 15, my mum had driven me to my school bus stop and she decided to wait with me until the bus arrived. This would have been about 8am. We were parked in a side road, when another car parked opposite us in the main road. He stayed in his car for a couple of minutes, which we thought was a little weird. He then got out and started brushing something off of his shirt and jeans. He looked like a normal guy, but during this time my mum and I were both joking about how shady he looked. At one point I said to my mum 'maybe he's just killed someone and is trying to get rid of evidence'.

The guy then walked to the trunk of his car and opened it. He started fiddling with something in the trunk of his car and then pulled out a shovel. My mum and I turned to eachother looking terrified before bursting into laughter. He then shut the trunk and walked off. We'll never know what he did with that shovel...

A friend of mine lives on an acreage. She told me that one day when she was young she was with her mom (her dad was working), and they got a phone call from her neighbor about a weird man knocking on peoples doors. Apparently, the guy knocked on this one lady's and asked to borrow gas,she said sure and her husband, who had not been visible until this point, came to help her get gas for the man (he said he needed it for his car). Once the man saw the husband he said "never mind" and walked to his car and drove away. he supposedly knocked on some other doors, but no one answered.

I thought the original thread was fantastic. Does anyone know if there are any similar threads elsewhere on IMDB? I know there's a good one on the An American Haunting board as well

reply

Yes! A new thread! I have nothing to add right now but will enjoy reading the stories.

To answer your question Rudya - there is a long thread on the Strangers board that you might like. I don't know of any others but you might want to ask on the "I need to know" or "horror" boards - they may know if there are other good threads like these.

Really looking forward to more scary stories. I am going to try to see if I can recall any others to share.

reply

There is a creepy stories thread on The Blair Witch Project boards too.

reply

Nice one, thanks to both of you.

I loved reading the original thread for this! It had some pretty creepy stories. Anyway I have a few I would like to share. I'll just go with one right now, since it was the creepiest for me. Also sorry in advance if there are any mispelled words or anything. I'm typing from my phone.

About 7 years ago (I was 19) I worked at a popular tanning salon. We always worked 1 person per shift. So only one girl would be there at a time, no manager or anything. Well one night I was working the late shift it was a slow night so I did some cleaning and read a magazine in between customers. It was about 8:30 pm and this man pulls up in an old beat up red truck. The front of the salon is nothing but big windows so it was easy for anyone to see inside. He stays in his truck lookng at me for a few minutes, then gets out and starts walking to the door. I felt a little nervous since again I was alone and also had no customers tanning at the moment. He walked in and looked around for a minute. I asked him if I could help him with something (although I had a feeling he didn't want to tan or anything, he was extremely pale with long scraggly hair pulled into a pony tail and look like a meth addict or something) he came up to the counter I was at and asked me if I had any money because his car had just ran out of gas in the parking lot. I told him I had no money to give him, hopng he would leave. He then asks me if anyone else was there with me so he could ask them for money. At this point I felt very uneasy. He kept staring at me with this creepy grin on his face and kept looking towards the back of the salon. He also made a comment about how many rooms we had. Anyway when he asked me if I was alone, I lied and said no and that my manager was in the back office with her husband. It was really strange because once I mentioned that a man was there he started acting nervous, and ran out the door got in his truck and drove off. I guess he wasn't really ou of gas.... I was so scared I immediatly locked the door and called my boss. She told me to leave as soon as my last appointment of the night had finished. When my customer arrived I let him in and told him what happened to me. While he was tanning I looked out the window and sure enough there was the man in the truck parked all the way at the back of the parking lot. He saw me notice him and he was waving and smiling. I got really scared, as soon as my customer finished I told him the man was in the parking lot, so he stayed with me while I locked up and walked me to my car. The man in the truck drove off once he saw I had a guy with me. We tried to catch his license plate but he drove off to fast. I don't know what he really wanted, but I felt very uneasy the whole time he was around me. I guess it's best to trust your instincts.... No telling what he might have done to me If I had told him I was alone. After that I always made sure to either have my boyfriend or a friend with me anytime I worked the closing night shift.

A little over a year ago, I drove across the U.S. and back. It took 3 days, driving 12 hours a day to make it across. I was by myself. I had to stop every 4 hours or so to fill up my car. Sometimes there's a great distance between gas stations, so you have to make sure you fill up before it gets too low or you might not make it to the next one.

One of the days, around midnight, I noticed my car was nearing empty. As soon as I saw a station, I pulled off the highway and headed to it. It was pretty much all dark, the store there was closed, just a few dim lights in the parking lot. As I got closer, I saw this old man standing near the store, he looked like a homeless drifter, had a bag with him. He was the only person there, just me and him, no other cars or people. He was maybe 25 feet from the pumps.

I pulled up to the pumps, and before I got out of my car, he came running over to me. He ran up to my window and instead of getting out I just locked the door, then when he get close enough I just kept driving, he headed after my car a little bit but then stopped when he realized he wouldnt be able to keep up. I got back on the highway, nervous I would run out of gas before finding another station, but I wasnt about to fill up with just me and him standing there together.

Thankfully I found another station before my tank ran out.

Really? Lame. Do you think that no one has seen Rear Window? For anyone reading this, "Wendi14501" basically told a bastardized version of the classic film Rear Window. The film is well worth the viewing, this post, however, is not worth your time.

I liked your post Wendi. I hope more people contribute and add some new stories as well.

Story #1:

This happened to my boss's family while she was at work yesterday. It's just kind of bizarre.

Her daughter "Allie" had just gotten off her school bus and was walking home when a woman in her late twenties approached her and asked if she lived in the general area. Allie said yeah, and then started walking on towards her house, leaving the woman behind. She was opening her door when the same woman pushed her aside and ran inside the house. Apparently the woman had followed her all the way home.

Allie was completely stunned and had no idea she had been following her the whole time. Thankfully her grandmother was at home watching her younger brother, but the women refused to leave. She completely flipped out, screaming about her family and how she didn't want to go home to take her medication. They got her mother on the phone, who insisted she go home, but the woman wouldn't leave. Allie's grandma finally called the police and after 20 minutes waiting (it's a super small town, they shouldn't have to wait that long), the police escorted her home. They don't know exactly what was wrong with her, but it's obvious she was very mentally unstable.

Story #2:

This happened to my Uncle while he was in Haiti (he and many other people I know have lots freaky Haiti stories).

He's a missionary and decided to move back to Haiti after being gone for about 10 years. He was staying at a hotel while house hunting. Right before he went to bed, he had bought a glass bottle of coke and put it on the floor next to his bed. He had a friend sleeping in the bed next to him.

In the middle of the night he heard a huge bang and saw that the glass of coca cola and exploded all over the place. The top and bottom of the bottle had stayed in tact, but the middle had shattered. They have no idea how it happened, but he was convinced it was demonic. There's a lot of demonic presence there, so lots of weird things happen. I guess he's used to it by now.

I will no longer be carrying around photo ID. Know why? People should know who I am.

I have a new one that just happened last night. I got home late (around midnight) and went to feed my cats. I opened my back door to let my dogs out, and as I closed it I saw the head of a dark figure with glowing eyes in the reflection on the window panes right behind me.

I screamed and turned and then realized what it was. I had moved a storage cabinet and my huge black cat meatball was sitting on top of it right behind me. I caught his reflection and glowing eyes and as I closed the door it literally looked like a dark shadow figure with glowing eyes was behind me.

Maybe I have been reading to many scary stories too.

Allie sounds like a dumb ass. It's really hard to see that someone is following you on foot. She was probably texting and walking like an idiot.

.....Yeah

She kind of is. She's just a ditzy teenager... Really, really ditzy.

I like your tights... You look like a bee and I like bees.

Well, maybe about a year ago (give or take), it was about 2 in the morning and I was sitting in my living room watching TV; my parents were asleep. Then, out of no where, I hear this loud BANG sound outside the house. It sounded like it came from the driveway, which was right outside the living room. My pets even freaked out so I knew I wasn't just hearing things. I freak out and wake my dad up and he goes out front to check.

He didn't see anything and went around back to check there. He even checked the basement even though there's only 3 small windows to access it. I still don't know what it was, but it was extremely loud and close by the window and I was crying from being so freaked out. Still not sure what it was. Probably some idiotic teens or something, I hope.

Then there was another time when my parents were getting ready for bed and I was in the living room, turning off all the lights. I was about to leave the room when I hear something by the door. I go closer and see/hear the door knob jiggling pretty roughly. I run and get my dad (again haha) and he goes out front to check, but doesn't see anyone. The creepiest part was that only about 2 minutes before this happened, my mom had locked the front door. It's a little scary to think what might have happened if whoever was there came by sooner..

Oh, and a long time ago my friend told me that one night, she suddenly woke up in the middle of the night. She looked out the window and saw his face peering inside. The guy left, but she was too afraid to move and wake up her family and eventually fell asleep. She told her parents in the morning and when they went to check outside, they saw foot prints right by the window. Really creepy stuff.

July 15, 2011 - The end of a great thing.

So happy to see some new stories, I love these!

I can't believe I forgot this one I am about to share. When I was married my husband would sometimes come home from work on his lunch. One day I was home and heard the downstairs door open and heard someone banging around in there. It was around holiday season, and my husband and I used the front door so I assumed he was hiding gifts in the basement.

We always kept that door closed because we didn't want the pets in there. I called out to him "Rich, are you home?". No answer. Again, "Rich, are you there?" No reply still. Our cat also heard the noise and went down the steps as I was calling to my husband, and immediately ran back up with his hair all puffed out like he was terrified.

That was when it occurred to me that it wasn't Rich. Our cat never would have reacted that way to him. I was in the kitchen but we had sliding french doors I could have run out of if needed, so I kept and eye on the steps while I called my husbands office to ask if he came home for lunch. The reply was "no he is here, do you want to talk to him?".

I immediately hung up and called the police and reported an intruder. When the police came they checked the basement and found noone. I insisted there was someone there, told them about the cat and the loud noises. They showed me tracks in the fresh snow that they had made, and pointed out nobody could have gotten out without making footsteps.

They were very nice and courteous and checked my whole house with me and found nobody at all. I was embarrassed but also perplexed at how it could have happened. The door that we always kept closed was open when they went down. I left the house and wouldn't return until my husband got out of work that night.

I noticed that most of the posters here were women. I'm not trying to look down on the opposite sex but from the stories I read here and some from other boards, you were IN DANGER.

The girl working in the tanning salon and the one who had the detached garage really stood out to me. As soon as you suspect (or that voice inside starts telling you) that something is wrong, get some backup.

Pickup your cell and have 911 dialed waiting for you to press send, go to the back door screaming your lungs out for your dad. As many of you have said when a man came or was mentioned the aggressor backed down.

Stay safe and remember what times we are living in.

EDIT - At the very least get outside and start banging on neighbors doors and screaming. Abductors want to do what they do privately, make it public and they will usually back down
