What does the ending mean to you?

I'm not sure what is meant to be taken away from the ending. We see that they seem to be doing well in their respective relationships, and that they are glad to reconnect. But what did that kiss mean? A friendly reminder of the time they spent together, or is the cycle of infidelity and betrayal starting all over again? And what is the signifigance of the final line, which is also the title of the film, "Race you to the bottom"?

My thought was that he kissed her to convey the idea that there was some real spark -- even though he was ultimately more gay than bisexual. The last things he'd said to her were horribly cruel. He told he she "disgusted" him. She didn't, obviously, though it wasn't enough. (He'd tried to say as much several times; clearly, it wasn't working for him as much as he'd "prefer to be straight." He'd called to apologize for his cruelty but she hadn't called him back. The kiss was meant to convey attraction but I certainly didn't get the impression that they were going to re-start that mess.
